I love that you share the themes of each book!! I always prefer hearing themes/tropes than the actual synopsis 🥰

I’m so glad! 🥰 It’s honestly how my brain remembers things and what i enjoy knowing about a book so it works well ✨

June was a great reading month for me 📚 There were lots of books that I enjoyd, with my favourites being 'A Day of Fallen Night' by Samantha Shannon, 'In Defence of thr Act' by Effie Black, and 'Things We Do Not Tell the People We Love' by Huma Qureshi. I loved watching your June wrap up 😊

I'm so very glad to hear it.. sounds like a fantastic reading month and happy you found some books you enjoyed 🥰 I read 'The Priory of the Orange Tree' by Samantha Shannon a little while ago now but haven't got around to reading 'A Day of Fallen Night'. Do you recommend doing so? 💫 I haven't heard of the other titles you listed. Really intrigued by them though 🧸✨

@@woodlandbunny Yes, I would definitely recommend reading 'A Day of Fallen Night' (ADOFN) after Priory! 😊 I read 'The Priory of the Orange Tree' two years ago and really enjoyed it, but ADOFN is a new favourite of mine now. In Priory, I really enjoyed Ead's point of view, but was less invested in the others during some points in the book, whereas in ADOFN I loved all of the characters so so much and enjoyed reading from each of them. Although it is the longest book I have read this year so far, I actually read it in a shorter length of time than some of the other books I have read 😅

@caitlinlilym oh that’s really interesting! I have seen a lot of people who haven’t read Priory, read Fallen Night so love hearing your thoughts. Thank you! 🥰

So sorry that you didn't like The Honey Witch. I finished reading it before I left for my trip and I really loved the book. I think the reason I loved it so much was because it brought me to back to some of my childhood memories with my own grandma. Her and I were very close and she created a lot of love of magic and caring for living creatures in my life. My own grandma isn't around anymore, so I think this book just hit a bit differently for me and made me enjoy it more? 💕

I'm really sad too, on reflection i just think the narrative and voice of the main character just felt too young and naïve. Personally found a lot of the plot points just fell a bit flat for me. I must say the one element in which i absolutely adored were the scenes with her Grandmother. I too am extremely close with mine and grew up around her too, helping her garden and do household bits. I still do that now. So i 100% adored that whole element of the book and completely understand your point because i resonate with it! I think it will be one that i do re-visit but i feel i may have come off a bit negative when that isn't my intention, think i might have had a negative light on it because i hyped it up so incredibly much in my head. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss - big hugs! 🧸✨

@@woodlandbunny that's totally understandable and I've been there before with over hyping a book and getting let down. I'm sorry that was the experience you had reading the book and if you do revisit it someday, I hope it is a more enjoyable experience 🥰❤ and thank you! it's never easy, but I'm still grateful for the time I did get to have with her 🥲💕
