I am currently reading Malice by John Gwynne and really enjoying it. I have Gormenghast trilogy lined up next to read. The Helm Of Midnight is intriguing, i will add it to my list.

T kingfisher has been active, just read the 7th bride, it was ok.. I loved Nettle and bone.. I think I may have read one more under her other name she uses..assuming I’m think of the right author..don’t like horror I dream about the books I read, can’t have that with horror..thank you

@@myanaloglife9450 yeah she definitely has straight horror books and then the other side of the coin is fantasy or romantic fantasy. So some of those would be good if you don't like too much horror! I love the World of the White Rat (it has a standalone, a duology, and an ongoing series in that world)
