😊 That is gumbo's day nap official spot, unfortunately it is also my usual filming chair. Good to know you liked Wicked, it seems like most people I've seen only end up on the extremes of love or hate it.

Yay for following your joy in June! I couldn’t agree more. The only book from that list I’ve read is Wicked, which was good. I read it before seeing the musical and I loved the focus on Elphaba and seeing her side of the story. There’s more in the series?? I didn’t realize that!! I’m going to also tackle some big books this summer, books I’ve been pushing aside because I didn’t think I would have enough material to make videos. This summer I am definitely just going to focus on reading for fun and not worry about BookTube as much. :-) It really feels like a relief just to even type that! Hope you enjoy everything you read!

It's always so interesting to see how people take Wicked depending on whether they read or see the play first! There are I think 4 books in the series, but McGuire also has a couple other re-tellings that have the same look, so I never know which ones are officially part of it or aren't, I've grabbed any I see at book sales. Glad you are chasing the reading joy and less worrying about the videos. I definitely think you have nothing to worry about there, people would show up if you only read a couple books a month I'm sure, but it is always hard to keep from setting our own internal pressures. Any particular big books you've been putting off that you are getting to? My problem is choice there, I have so many...

Gumbo was napping, she's a tiny(6-7lbs) dilute tortie, everyone else here are giants comparatively.

She does like to be out and about at times, but it is definitely a new development that she naps in the living room every day now. I don't know what changed, but it seems like something is different recently because she used to always want to go nap in the closet and hasn't been doing that at all. It's always when you stop putting in effort to change them, they make progress 😂

I'll be interested to hear what you think of Wicked as you've already seen the musical. I read the book first and then saw the musical, and it was a bit of an adjustment (however, I've gotten to the point where I love both of them now!)

I have seen people go wildly opposite ways about Wicked with relation to the show, but I don't think I know anyone who thinks both musical & book are equally good... sooo we shall see.

People are so mixed about Wicked! do you remember why you DNFd or just that it was too weird? 🤣 I am kind of vlogged out, but I might take that idea... we will see how I am feeling in a week or so!

I am hoping to read the rest of the Hugo's novels and novellas, as well as get some QueerLit Readathon books, in June.

June is already flying by, but I believe you can do it!!! The excitement for the Hugos should be good at driving you forward. I just saw Saint of Bright Doors won the Nebula, so should be interesting how it fares in the Hugo, it wasn't really on my radar to pick up before.
