June update - Boxing showcase

Dev updates from May to June.
We've managed to get our own motion capture set up and have used it to fix our locomotion and also capture some boxing animations.
There's still a lot to fix but we figured we'd show everyone our current progress.

Every time I play ufc, watch people play undisputed or just come in contact with any combat sport game in general....THIS is the fluidity and realistic striking I desperately want to be implemented in a game. Great job of pulling this off. Very well done 👏👏

NGL this is groundbreaking gameplay! - The head movement - Angle creation - Hitting in between punches - Tracking - Feints - Hitting contextually within slip or weave - Vulnerability - Punch speed - Punch impact Already is some of the best I have seen in a boxing game ever. Keep boxing and kickboxing/muay Thai separate. Might be able to sell each part off to different publishers bc both are the best we have seen in each discipline gameplay wise

i love how when one started moving laterally the opponents punches missed. its not like it completely locks on to the opponent. it looks like you can miss badly just like in real life

Hated undisputed because I simply couldn’t play it on my steam deck. Finally can at lower settings and to be honest it’s actually really fun though definitely needs more refining including a more realistic use of jab

Looks fast-paced but the animations are spot on. Not tryna downplay the devs of ESBC/Undisputed but they have achieved what they couldn't within the span of 3 years. If there are licensed boxers in this game and variation to the movements and punching animations for specific boxers (FNC has it, but it was limited), this could be a goated Boxing game.

This looks greaaaaaatttt! Only problem I see is the lack of movement of the back foot. It should be rotating on and off the ball of the foot. Boxers Road 2 and Victorious Road 2 demonstrate that aspect well

Sorry but to me this is better striking than UFC AND the Undisputed game, especially the latter. even the way the fighters react to hits is more realistic. in the other games it's either too dramatic to the point of being stiff, or there's no reaction at all. here I can say the opposite and the sound effects are so satisfying, the extended exchanges seem real to life, the lead movement looks natural and not "video gamey" (for lack of a better term), the movement is fluid but not incredibly arcade-like... you guys have something here. please keep it up, build on it, take all the feedback below.

Undisputed has better footwork but this game has better punching animations and knockdown physics. This is what we've been looking for when it comes to a boxing game. The physics look amazing. I really hope this game comes out on console. I'll be keeping a close eye on this one.

I was considering this but I think I'm gonna disagree a little. Undisputed's footwork does look good but they massively failed at integrating it into the game properly, the way the fighters move feels incredibly unresponsive and clunky, I don't feel that I have that much control over their movement at all. I have more fun with Fight Night Champion's simpler footwork for example, it doesn't look as fancy but it feels a lot better. I don't mind this at all

I hope the footwork has pendulum step animation, bouncing fast while maintaining distance between two feet. I just see a lot of boxing game the characters only just do the slow skipping motion like in this video, footwork which boxers do when it's okay to move slow but using this motion in every situation is not realistic.
