Juneau, Alaska | 4k Virtual Drive Tour | With Special Walk Tour Ending

Covering all the main areas of Juneau, Alaska. I go through downtown to the Mendenhall Glacier and to Auke Bay. This is during coronavirus June 2020 which is starting to ease up but significantly less tourist and no cruise ships. Hopefully this can give you an idea of it for cruise excursions or regular visits.

I was born in Juneau August 21 1956 Saint Ann's Hospital which has been torn down. We lived in Douglas and had to take the ferry across the bay to Juneau. There was no bridge. My older brother was born there in 1951. My mom took lots of pictures and everything seems so ancient now. We left Alaska 1959 for California then Oregon.

I flew into juneau for a couple of days in june and basically spent sunrise to 11pm sunset out and about in the woods, around the glaciers and around town. What an incredible place, I loved every second of it

Got to spend part of the day in Juneau a few summers ago when we took an Alaskan cruise. So glad my wife talked me in to doing it. I couldn't put my camera or binoculars down. Gorgeous views EVERYWHERE.

I had actually visited Juneau on a Cruise from Carnival Miracle back in August of 2022, we were there for about a day or so but I remember getting to tour the city and also getting a sight of the Mendenhall Glacier. It was a very fun journey to go on.

I worked cruise ships from 2018-2020 as an entertainer. I loved stopping here. It was the longest port day. I could get off, get some pizza, sit down relax, do a little book shopping and then go see a movie. There seems to be tow theaters in the downtown area. One main one and a smaller independent one. The main has to wait until school was out for the day to start showing movies because their employees are teenagers who still are in school. I was amazed at the commercials they played before the movie started. A lot of Homeland Security is hiring commercials. I saw John Wick 3 there. But the smaller independent theater is really cool. It's a short walk away. I saw Once Upon A Time in Hollywood there. I loved it, there were no proper theatre seating. It was just a mix and match of lounge chairs, love seats, and sofas. It's really charming and intimate. There is Mooses Pizza near by that was just good enough. But it was a place that I could chill and relax and get a good meal and just sit for an hour or so to kill time. They had a taco pizza that was absolutely awful. But their normal regular pizzas we're pretty decent. I love that they give bowls of popcorn to the customers while you wait for your food.

On my way. Final destination. Had to make a pit stop in... Idaho: Idaho Falls, Ririe, Rigby, Pocatello and Boise. Also... Utah: Salt Lake City, Ogden. And... California: Los Angeles, San Diego. As well as... Colorado: Denver. And, of course... Indiana: Indianapolis. And last, but most certainly not least... Illinois: Chicago. Next stop? Washington: Seattle. And from there to Bellingham to catch the ferry to Juneau. Hey, if you're gonna be a nomadic drifter, either do it with panache, or not at all. See you next spring Juneau. God help you all. I'm just going to say "Sorry" now for all of the stupid messes I'm sure I'll cause, and get myself into, while there. 🤘

Juneau has a small population of about 30,000. if you like to ski, hike, or bike, it's very good in Juneau.
