The personal myth guide will be life changing, life realizing, thank you so much

I’m gonna be personal for a second and I really wish I could get some answers to what i’m about to write. I really want to communicate with my unconscious. Basically throughout my whole conscious life I have been always questioning: “Why do I do the things that I do? And why am I the way that I am?” Not ever fully understanding myself, but I do have at the moment my own self-analysis. I have analyzed the memories of both the distant and recent past and I have seen “patterns”. I have mentally labeled those “patterns” (We could call them “patterns of behavior”) with specific names so that I can identify them anytime they come up again in ego-consciousness. But the subject discussed of internal projection to the unconcious makes this even more complex to decipher my psyche (And I was kind of aware of that problem even prior to this video). I am essentially naming patterns of my psyche/self with words and ideas, a sort of “internal projection” of the ego to the psyche and am continuously interpreting it. It seems that by “naming” it I am essentially categorizing it and i’m not sure if the psychic content is much richer than just the mere label I have named it with.The point is that “naming” or “labeling” it has definetly helped me in at least identifying those “patterns” so I don’t feel so disassociated with my self. I want to feel united with my psyche. So I thought of picking up the hypnotherapy book and do self-hypnosis. Would you guys recommend self-hypnosis as the best way to communicate with the unconscious? My biggest fear is to fall on an ego-fantasy and separate myself even further from my unconscious with more projections.I just said a little bit too much but I really hope I could get an answer. Thank you all for your time reading this.

I'm as hyped for the release of the Personal Myth Guide as I am for the release of Zack Snyder's Justice League! The former of course for my real world life while the later for the appreciation of a brilliantly created piece of collaborative art. 💙

Hello Team! A quick question about your Personal Myth Handbook: You’ve mentioned in other videos that before we are to understand Jungian Psychology, we MUST first understand Freudian & Adlerian Psychology, since those would build a good “foundation” upon which we can build our personal myth & individuate. I suspect that I may have some personal issues ala Freud & Adler…should I understand & resolve those first BEFORE diving into this Handbook? Or does this handbook cover it all? Thanks! And really looking forward to working on myself after 30+ years of dealing with psychological issues!

Hi again James W W, I'd actually start not at the beginning, with Freud, but with the work of Mark Solms, you can find his channel here on KZbin. Professor Solms is a neuropsychologist and the editor of the forthcoming English translation of Freud's collected works. He's also an Affective neuroscientist and neuropsychoanalyst. His papers and books, give an updated perspective on Freud's work from the perspective of neuroscience, with perhaps suprisingly positive results for Freud. His published papers on the neuroscience of dreaming, challenge (by implication) many of Jung's ideas too, backed up by real neuroscience. For Adler, any of his works that you can get. Slternative;y, if you join our Discord server there's a vibrant and dedicated community of peers there who study both Freud and Adler alongside Jung, and where the IPSA team regularly post. Kindest Regards, Steve & Pauline🙏🙏

It's interesting that at 9:36, the image has confirmation by life partner first and later self-confirmation. Isn't the opposite equally as important? or am I taking this out of context? Great video as always :)

Great content! I have a question, tho, about your phrase that "you can't experience the totality of the Genomic-Self". Would that mean that you can't have an experience of the imago dei, of the Totality as such - whether in your psyche, or in the metaphysics of the world? Or do you limit your phrase to the axis that links the basic instinctive emotional systems with the genome? Many thanks in advance, loving your content, Anton

Hey Steve. Hope you're well Wondered what your thoughts are on Advaita . I have read that Carl Jung was invited to speak with Ramana Maharashi in India. CJ declined to meet him for his own reasons. I' have listened to a lot of lectures of a gentleman called Rupert Spira ,who is in my opinion one of the best translaters of what Advaita / enlightenment is for the Western mind . He explains we can experience this at any time as this is what our true nature is. would having the understanding that all of us is the Great Self ( the ocean) experiencing itself through the many us ( whirlpools) Fit in with your guide for individuation?

Hi again @AndersonHypnotherapy, many thanks for your comment. There are many ways to model the collapse of the wider informational-field, into subjective Ego-consciousness. These alternative surface structure representations can conceal rather than reveal deep structure truths. Dialectical syncretism is a way of translating between the various surface structure manisfestations, and uncovering the deep-structure representation that unites them all. Kindest Regards, Steve

Where is the genomic consciousness situated physically ? I have an idea but need confirmation. I can feel the ego thinking consciously at the brain area and can feel the genomic consciousness at the pelvis area, or am I just dreaming.

Hi @Okay, we have a video coming out that will cover this. Essentially, its within the genome itself, but also its organising fields (Rupert Sheldrake and Penrose-Hameroff), Consciousness, defined as 'a complexity of information, that can represent itself, to itself' takes consciousness away from a psycho-reductive (collapsed) model of what consciousness is, as just an extension of normal Ego-consciousness, into domains that it is not adapated to, nor indeed, never evolved to enter. Hi friends. I have a question about internal projection. I have been learning about Internal Family systems therapy and can see that percieving internal imagery in this way could lead to internal projection. Is analyzing oneself through communicating with 'inner children' such as an 'inner 4 year old' or an 'inner teenager' potentially a harmful form of internal protection? Or is this a creative method of finding ones throughline?(Previous self concepts)? I have appropriated several methods and what I find myself doing is using a pendulum to confirm whether the internal imagery communicated by 'dissociated parts/ inner children' is genuinely 'them' speaking with me or a fantasy. For example: I was speaking with a 'part of self' asking why my neck was so tense and resistant to a qigong healing my teacher attempt to perform on it (it became more stiff and I heard an inner voice say it wasnt ready to release). My teacher made a comment that it was 'like I was wearing a yoke.' I used my pendulum to inquire and what emerged was a memory of myself as a child around 11 struggling to carry a jug of water to our capsite as my Dad looked at me seemingly with pity and disgust as he insisted it wasnt that heavy -though I wasnt strong enough to lift it at that time. Wowzers as I'm writing this I can see how symbolic this is of my present unemployment or 'inability to carry water' and the other piece being overcoming my father wounds. The imagery formed around a throughline of other similar memories, particularly one of my Dad throwing a cup of water on me as a teenager. This 'part of self' which seems to be a 'inner teenager' culminates as an attitude of rebelliousness towards having a mundane job and seems to constantly sabotage my work life when it is I am doing something viewed as boring. Is this a complex? Or am I having a INFJ moment😅? Sorry for the tangent and long winded post, but writing here in the comment section seemed to allow me to connect a few things. Thanks so much for your content.

Hi @ethanjcraig, many thanks for your comment. I'll answer from my own positiuon on this, without comment on your particular circumstances. Ego strength is the absolute pre-requsite for anyone attempting to reify 'parts' of themselves, that are not their everyday, integrated personality. The paradox here, is obvious. Anyone who is vulnerable enough to find themselves having to go through a healing or psychotherapeutic process, is likely to have attenuated Ego-strength, and should not weaken their Ego boundary and adaptation further, particularly through the influence of therapists, or internet gurus. Someone who has Ego-strength, but is distracted away from real-world adaptation, into fantasy, may well be stable enough to indulge the fantasy of communicating with other 'parts' or 'sub-personalities' as reified, through auto-suggestion, and that is safe enough, so long as Ego-strength holds up. If someone is seriously disturbed, for example through psychosis, substance abuse, trauma or bereavement, then they should not be encouraged to further dissociate, by generating fanatsies about other parts of themselves, or fantasies about inner families. The key is in 'representation', within Ego-consciousness, of information that is outside of it. We cannot talk with an inner-child version of ourselves, only reify a representation of a 'state' of information that involves the image of a past time, or past Ego-state. The image (imago) is a symbol, and symbols to be symbols, must represent something other, or more than, what they appear to be. Reification of fantasy imagos, is very superficial in terms of its use, in therapy, or personal development. Real, depth-work is far more detailed, nuanced and transformative. The Ego fanatsising about itself, or about internalised 'object relations' is still within the informational field of the Ego, it is not engagement with the dynamic unconscious, or the wider, superpositioned biopsychosocial, and ontological meta-field, that is the human condition, of any individual, and their relationships. The superficiality of reification in fanatsy, through auto and hetero suggestion, is potentially very dangerous, given the initial conditions of the person concerned, and how these may change dynamically over time. I gave up on such techniques in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and moved on to far better and safer methids. I'm still however, meeting people who have been badly traumatised by such 'suggestions' - deliverd by therapists, and have had to help a great number of them re-associate their dissociated personalities. The lack of proper understanding about the nature of the psyche, produces fantasies based on internal projection. In a stable personality, such things are just fantasies, but in the un-stable, they can become the means of generating a catabolic dissociation. There are far better and truly profound ways of engaging with 'non-Ego consciousness', but these are not fantasy-based, Ego-narcissim. Kindest Regards, Steve

I have stopped having dreams . Why might it be ? Is it because I am on track with my individiuation journey? Please answer my question or atleast hint where can I find the answer to .
@JungToLiveBy3 жыл бұрын
I’d recommend that you lookup Alfred Adler’s theories on dreams. From his perspective there’s nothing wrong at all if dreams stop or can’t be recalled. If you Google Alfred Adler Dream theory something should come up for you. It’s normal so don’t worry. The classical Jungian view is one approach but there are others. Kindest Regards, Steve🙏
