I've seen videos of them all avoiding the mic but with Namjoon's persistence and perseverance they are now natural at speaking. Namjoon wanted all of them to learn English and learn to speak without fear. He was training them to become comfortable speaking in a group with support so that it would be easy and comfortable when speaking alone. I think he had a vision of them all being successful doing solo ventures (singing, modeling, commercials, etc) and prepared them to represent themselves and BTS successfully in all capacities. He's done a great job.

I love this video because as usual SugaArmy captures the essence so well. That MAMA where Jimin is in the red jacket he was the most obvious but it's been going on for years. Those who watch all their award speeches can see the progression. Only RM speaking, with maybe Suga sometimes at first. Then as they started to win more Jin would step up reluctantly. But they would all avoid RM when he would try to encourage them. Jhope started doing the speech when they win a dance related award. But the maknaes would be hiding. If you notice V, he is using avoidance tactics in a lot of these clips too. He will be the first one up there, accept the award then step back, lol. They win so many awards I think RM point blank asked them to each say something so he doesn't have to give 6-9 speeaches each night. But also they all feel they can't live up to RM's abilities. Jhope said so every time last year when he was up there by himself. But JK won't know until he practices which means doing it.

Aw, yes, that's his shyness showing all those years. I think he changed during the pandemic, because when they did their speeches in 2022 he Did speak and did quite well. His famous, I Want to Be Your Forever Artist...and even telling the host that he wasn't finished when the guy tried to get one of the others to speak. I was laughing so hard from the video because of all the edits that my dog started looking at me like I was insane. JK and I are the same, we will do everything we possibly can to avoid giving speeches unless we are given no choice.

In some ways, JK is still like this. Yes, he has grown and is better able to cope when he has to but his preference is not. A few months back he went to a movie premiere with V, and the same shyness was there. As they walked up to the stage he was almost hiding behind V. When they handed them the mic V looked at him but it was a nope. When the crowd cheered he hid behind a movie fan he was holding in his hand, and V did it also to make it look planned. Tae encouraged him and he said a few words with a quickness. Search "Jungkook and V Dream Premiere." His actions were pretty much the same as in this video.

I can't believe he actually left the stage! RM taking a head count and going straight to Jin 😅🤣🤣🤣😅😅 When I saw this the first time I was thinking he might have had an emergency of some kind.. But now I'm not so sure 😅🤣🤣 Speaking is much harder than dancing and singing, you somehow feel alone, vulnerable. There's no 'song and dance' to hide behind. Poor JK. He started to get used to it, but then got nervous again when he had to speak in English. But they've won 700 awards or something!..The other members were all very nervous, too. In the early days RM gave all the acceptances speeches. But it must have been hard to think of something new to say each time ...sometimes they won 2 or 3 awards at a single event. Love this!
