It’s kinda like that here in Australia... on the class roll they out your last name first (for e.g with random name: Jones, Ava)

No hate, but there is also in Asia that you don’t put the surname first for example the Philippines. Us here don’t put our surnames at first, but formally we do (example: Kim, Hailey) but officially it’s (example: Hailey Y. Kim) I know you only put the surname at first in Japan, Korea and China. (That’s what I know)
