It’s not that he stopped rapping. He’s a sub rapper. He still raps in his vlives and whenever a rap line member is missing a performance, he covers up their part. For example he was mostly doing Suga’s parts when he was recovering from his shoulder injury. Their music style changed, they used to do more hiphop based songs in the beginning. But then it became more vocal based and he has a lot of responsibility as a Main Vocalist (doing the guides, bg vocals, adlibs etc) so he kind of backed down a lil bit. But he still loves to rap. I’m sure we will get some rapping from him in his solo album. He has never been trained in rapping but his speed and flow are so good! We need more rapper JK content.

Jk likes to rap… but the music style shifted from hip hop focused to vocal focused and he does more melodic rap now. He was doing the same amount of singing even while rapping lol he’s always been the main vocalist and sub rapper

Jungkook is a great rapper but he s an even greater singer. I think he concentrated on getting his singing at a greater level. Plus they had already 3 of the greatest rappers of all time, and he already had many parts as main vocal. I would love if he did rap in his solo album. Or a rock rock song, I d lose it.

In the 2021 clip, he was actually rapping Suga’s part because it was the time when Suga was away for his shoulder surgery. But yeah, he is a sub rapper so at any time, he could go back to rapping regularly if he wanted to.

It wasn't necessarily he just stopped rapping, back then when they were fully hip hop, he was more promising as a rapper due to their style, although he did sing, it was more covers back then. Even with Jin & Jimin, the way they sing now or even how they did in 2015 was not what they had them doing in 2013. You barely heard them sing in 2013, even on their 1st extended play O!RUL8,2? they only sing in about 2 of the songs. But as BTS as a whole changed so did Jungkook in terms of what they had him do.

Jungkook randomly covers rap songs too during lives etc, he once covered a rap and thats the fastest any bts member has rapped. If he wasn't main vocalist and bts were not that reliant on him vocally, he would have continued rapping too

He may not be "the rapper" in the traditional sense of the word´s meaning ( like he doesn´t write his own lines, me thinks...) but he is a sub rapper of BTS and covers for other rappers when those are out for various reasons ( like when Suga and RM were out, sick). Jk has a definite flair for rapping. The other 3 in the vocal line can´t rap if their lives depended on it and if they do rap occasionally , it is mostly for shit and giggles only, but Jungkook is natural. He also habitually includes rapping in his singing vlives which proves his love of rapping. You can also notice difference in the rappers´demeanor when the vocal line tries to rap or when JK raps. When JK steps on stage and starts rapping, they amalgamate him as one of their own with all seriousness and especially Suga, who tends to be hyper "protective" of his own raps, looks totally comfortable and at ease, letting JK take over when need comes:-) I only wish he started rapping again. Its thrill to watch him:-)

@@melak8325 The video was about rapping, not singing. I was talking about that aspect I am not certain of( that I am not sure if he ever contributed with rap verse writing). A seasoned rapper needs to write his own verses, of which I am not sure Jk ever did.

I really think given a chance to craft his talent in rapping, JK could be good. The thing is he is their main vocalist and best singer and does quite a bit in that role. In terms of rapping, he isn’t at RM and Suga’s level. And he is also part of the dance line. And their musicality did change from hip hop to pop. I would like to hear more of rapper JK. Maybe in his own album we will see more of that.
