Guys if you love Star Wars you ought to check out what's in Hollywood Studios, it will blow your brains out. They made an entire SW city and the new 3 rides created are out of this world... One ride requires an app and wait time in order to go on it but it's worth the wait!!

I can't even count how many times I've been on this ride at Disneyland. I probably go on it once a trip, and I've been there a _lot_ over the years. The Rock's first trip through the Jungle with the tourists is actually a pretty good representation of what the actual ride is like.

sometimes with a big budget, it doesn't allow for creativity. The Lost Boys was a great movie because with the low budget, they had to get creative with certain shots. Same with the Mummy (1999), the Mummy with Tom Cruise had such a huge budget that it depended on the spectacle rather than the story and creativity.

One of my favourite things about this movie is that Frank is hundreds of years old and still doesn't have his shit together, pretty much having to barter off pieces of his ship to keep it afloat. I can relate to that. Worst thing is that Disney AGAIN gives winks and nudges about a character being gay without committing. Shit or get off the pot, you lazy richass company...

Yeah, kind of a shame, wonder if they are doing a sequel, and if they are I think they should just go for it. They don’t have to create a love interest I would just like to see some backstory, or at least a flashback. On the other hand though, while some may see this as not committing to it I kind of liked that they didn’t lean into it too strongly. I kind of liked how they hinted at it but didn’t make that a defining aspect of his character. He’s a bit jumpy and squirrelly but he knows how to defend himself and I liked that about him.

"There aren't any hippos in south america", surprisingly there are, or at least there were. I remember reading a while back that the south american druglord from the 80s fancied himself an animal lover. He imported Hippos for his private zoo. When he was arrested and his compound fell in disrepair, the hippos escaped, and rather than die off they thrived. So now there is a population of invasive hippos in south america. lol

Jungle Cruise is basically Pirates of the Carribean: curse of the black pearl. 1- there's a cursed treasure 2- there's zombie 4- the hero at some point is revealed to be a zombie. 5- the hero is revealed to be a former member of the bad guys. 6- the female hero pushing against the stereotype of women in her time (not knocking it, just pointing out it's in both). 7- they're both period pieces.

I saw the movie at the, "Royal Theatre", in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and it has a digital projector system since the upgrade from a film projector system. Nothing looked CGI then. Ironically it seems too be a problem for home systems. 😒

Another element that I thought of was Indiana Jones because this film is similar to it in being an adventure movie for teens/Young Adults like Lost Ark was while also not being too obvious or too low stakes to not be interesting. Also thought it feels like it ends to where it could be standalone or something smaller like a Disney+ show

What annoyed me most about this movie was the historically inaccurate traffic scenes of 1916. The traffic was way too dense plus, way too many cars. About half of the traffic should’ve been horse drawn. I did not see a single horse. Super inaccurate.

The CGI was a bit... dodgy, and the pacing was godawful, but it did have some nice twists and turns.
