Awesome 👏🏻 this is the only advance PCG example currently on KZbin. All other are just basic. Also thanks for making tutorials on PCG. 🙏🤩

Lol so true, finally an actual practical example other than 3-4 trees. Why Epic Games doesn't have tutorials out like this boggles my mind.

I am very curious on the fps , I think it is extremely intensive on the amount of objects that are loaded

This feature looks awesome I had been looking to make something similar to fill the gaps around a procedural dungeon system I'm working on and here Epic come and make one. Looks like it should be possible to alter the splines and use external ones for dynamic creation, maybe even using different asset sets with the same template. I'm looking forward to playing around with this feature when I get the time.

Can you take a look at spawning on static meshes, and maybe masking density by texture?

There's actually plants spawning on the rocks, I'm working on a tutorial now! Haven't experimented with texture data, yet.

As far as I can tell there is no documentation. There are a few example graphs in the PCG Plugin's content folder though.

If I start a new level, can I make splines (linear or closed) to instantiate randomly? Meaning, for a jungle and a river flowing through, everytime the level loads during Play, the jungle boundaries will be different and the river direction & curve will be different. Is that possible with PCG in Unreal Engine 5.2?

This looks insanely good for procedural generation, polish it up a little and I'd say it was all made by hand. If only No Man's Sky had generation more like this but it would prove to be difficult.

In the FCG UE 5.3 the node project point on landscape doesn't exist anymore on ue 5.3 can you please clarify it on what could we swap it. Even the landscape section doesn't exist

Hellow, nice work. How you can deform landscape by spline path with PCG? Or you use node ''Apply Editor Spline'' in spline actor?

Thank you! I have not found a way to procedurally modify the landscape yet, sorry. The landscape in my video was done before putting PCG on top. However instead of landscape splines you could use the Landmass Brushes instead.

Are you using landmass to change landscape height?

For this I just sculpted a few hills. The Unreal Water rivers use landmass for deformation. The path does not deform anything, but making a custom landmass brush a path would be a good idea!

Epic presented PCG spawning at runtime so it is possible, but I haven't figured it out, yet.

Yes you can :) You can either mark the PCG Components "Generate On Load" which will generate them when the actor is loaded (and they are not yet generated). Or mark them "Generate on Demand" and call the "Generate" function on the component, in a Blueprint.

You can literally just drag the sliders and expand your environment infinitely, eliminating all the hard work that goes into hand-crafting a massive environment just to make the background look good.

Framerate looks terrible....... this is the Problem with all UE5 version... they are designed for grat live streaming of new features, but in the practical relaity of videogames, they are useless.
