Crocodile Attacks Impala
Impalas, like wildebeest, must drink on occasion and face the same dangers as all the other animals in the bush, when it comes to facing crocodiles. They must be extra cautious because they are much smaller and weaker than wildebeest. They do, however, have one advantage over wildebeest, and that is speed. In this video, the crocodile leaps out of the water quickly, but the impala is quick enough to avoid being caught. Because crocodiles swim in these waters and can strike at any time, these impalas are always drinking with the fear of death on their minds.
In this video, it’s a close shave for two impalas, but they manage to move out of danger in record time. When a band of wild dogs decides to have a picnic on the beach with their latest kill, the last thing they expect is for an uninvited crocodile to crash the picnic and steal their lunch. Wild dogs are amazing hunters, but they are no match for a crocodile, no matter how many of them there are. The Impala in this video, in a desperate attempt to escape - jumped into a nearby dam. Unfortunately, the water wasn't safe either, as the Impala encountered a crocodile.
The poor Impala could be seen literally shaking in the water - the adrenaline clearly overwhelming him at this point. The croc tried a few times to bite the impala, but it was quite a large bull. He tried to outlast the wild dogs in the water, but the water got too cold, and he started shivering. He decided to swim away with the croc still chomping on his tail. The impala reached the shallow waters where the dogs had the advantage, and the poor impala met his fate. This display really proves why these dogs are the most successful hunters on earth. Although this time they might have just gotten lucky.
Crocodile Attacks Wildebeest
When wildebeests go to waterholes to drink, they must constantly be wary of crocodiles. These massive reptiles can emerge from the water at any time and attack, as seen in this video. As the herd flees, one wildebeest is dragged into the water, and the herd comes to a halt to watch their comrade suffer. Wildebeests must cross the river during the great migration, and this is where many of them perish at the mouths of hungry crocodiles.
You can see what I mean in this video when a crocodile latches on to its prey to kill and eat it. The crocodile in this video picks this wildebeest out of the herd crossing the river, making it the unlucky one. The crocodiles' largest annual event is the crossing of this river, as they have an abundance of food coming their way and it’s impossible to miss. A feeding frenzy erupts right after.
