my top 😊 1. Ukraine: 200% in the vocals, the energy, the emotion... Artem gave every ounce and both he and all of Ukraine should be proud. When he spoke that one "dim" that really tugged at my heart. Tears of joy all around, I can see why he cried, he got his dream and he knew he smashed it on stage. Still my fave 💙💛 2. Portugal: Masterpiece all around. Absolute professional. To get 2nd overall and win the televote with your own song (at 13/14, against songs adults wrote) is an achievement. Even though you didn't get the win, you should feel amazing about this Victoria 💚❤ 3. Georgia: deserved winner. Flawless. It's like he commanded a concert hall and he had this massive live orchestra behind him. Was top 5 for me in music video stage but then I wasn't really sure how it was resonating in the rehearsal. But at the final I was stunned in the best way. It really moved me. I hope when the contest goes to Georgia they actually put a live orchestra behind him. 4. Spain: this performance package just had me in awe and got me dancing and singing along!!! Spain knows how to create a Junior Eurovision act, every piece in the perfect place and lots of "wows" !!! Perfect launch for the Lola tour, iykyk 5. Netherlands: another one that had me dancing and singing!!! Sure... I'm partial to JSF and the JSF reference content was a plus but also the crowd engagement and staging, yes!!! 6. Albania: All-in. Nikol gave the performance of a lifetime and I love that the staging just let her dance and show her voice! 7. Estonia: went a little lower for me based on this performance package vs. the performances of others but the song is still amazingly solid and so is her voice 8. France: can't deny that flawless vocal!!! Liked it a looooot better than with the MV. Although it felt like they definitely could have done more with the staging, this worked largely because of Titouan's performance quality. Ofc the song isn't the best we've seen from France, but Titouan and France still showed JESC mastery despite that. Surprised how high this climbed for me vs. MV stage haha 9. Armenia: what a showman, Lissandro level showmanship that engaged the crowd! His vocals showed either fatigue or strain in places (speaking as a vocalist, we've all been there and he has time to learn from that) But still I love the song and the performance package!!! 10. Germany: full-on emotions and a staging that improved things considerably vs. the music video stage. Perfect example of staging enriching a song. But in a stacked field... 11. Malta: this performance was so heartfelt and the staging was masterful. Well deserved top 5 in the final rankings. But when things stacked up in ballad zone (and ballad sung to parents zone haha) this got way overshadowed by Georgia in my opinion. 12. Italy: I loved everything about the performance, so much energy and really cool staging but again we're also going back to song comparison here and looking at a stacked field. 13. Ireland: at this point and above we get to the song/performance combos where I absolutely love all to almost all of it. But for some reason this one didn't stand out amongst the pack during the lives. Wondering if following Ukraine and Portugal made this go down for me? because it's not her or the song... it's me comparing Ireland's full package to everything else out there. 14. North Macedonia: they got the crowd involved and there were some cool staging elements but the song still does not stand out for me. Also could have used dancers behind them. 15. Cyprus: this was hard to watch as her vocals seemed very fatigued (prob due to the dancing) and I feel bad for her. Also just wasn't the biggest fan of the backgrounds. Dancing top notch though! 16. San Marino: they had a great time and should be proud to represent their country 😊 the song still isn't my fave and that's why it's low in rankings, but that's not their fault ofc! 17. Poland: song still just doesn't work for me, staging was cool but didn't elevate the song and Dominik did his best with the mid song they gave him *** note: I am from the US so this is completely unbiased based on countries 😊

In Estonia's case, it was the death slot that really did it. They should have put a reverse recap like in ESC earlier this year which would have given her some more online points. Even then, I preferred the studio version to the live version. Estonia was definitely ahead of Georgia before the rehearsals.

My top 17 (after the show): 17: Poland (5/10) - Was always one of the weakest songs, but for some reason the vocals turned out quite shaky at parts as well. Since the vocals were the only thing holding this up, I can't place it anywhere else, unfortunately. 16: San Marino (6/10) - They're so iconic but had such a nothing burger of a song. Vocals were chaotic, but that honestly made this a little bit better, somehow. 15: Cyprus (6/10) - The studio version was one of my favourites, but unfortunately this ended up being quite disappointing live. Her voice sounded exhausted and the staging didn't live up to the first rehearsal pictures. 14: North Macedonia (6/10) - What happened here? North Macedonia is usually always one of my favourites at JESC and I did certainly enjoy the song here as well, but the vocals were a complete trainwreck. Staging didn't work either, so unfortunately the televote last place was unsurprising. 13: Armenia (6/10) - Great staging but another case of weaker vocals. The song was also never really one of my favourites, but they did still bring a good amount of fun and energy. 12: Spain (6/10) - The most childish song of each year will always have a solid number of fans, but I'm not usually one of them. Same is the case here. This is TikTok music (that's not a compliment). The live performance was great though, so I can't place it in the very bottom anymore. 11: Germany (7/10) - Not disappointed by my country, was a good song overall and the staging was nicely done. His vocals did sound weaker than in the rehearsal clip, but I'm happy with the result we got. 10: France (7/10) - I'm relieved France didn't win again, even if I prefer this over all of their actual winners. His voice is definetly the highlight here. Song starts off great but I'm not the biggest fan of the chorus. 9: Italy (8/10) - Was never on my radar but this was easily one of the best live performances this year. There was a ton of energy and vocals were on point. 8: Netherlands (8/10) - Another amazing live performance, so much better than in the NF. Vocals were great and everything was just done perfectly, they turned one of the most basic songs this year into a great entry. 7: Malta (9/10) - I'm so glad that Malta did well, as I've always really liked this song. The staging looked incredible and Ramires is such a talented performer. Deserved great result. 6: Estonia (9/10) - Had always been one of my favourite songs (and it still is), but the live performance was flawed at parts. They definetly added to many pre-recorded backing vocals, despite her being able to carry the vocals herself. Still robbed for sure though. 5: Albania (10/10) - They absolutely cooked this year. Amazing song with near perfect vocals. I'm glad they placed fairly high, but televoters underrated it a lot still. 4: Georgia (10/10) - I completely expected them to flop so them winning was certainly a surprise. I don't mind though, because it's easily one of the best written songs this year alongside some of the best vocals and some of the best staging. This had everything and deserved to win. 3: Portugal (10/10) - Was my favourite before the show. The failed high notes were really unfortunate, but the rest of the performance lived up to my expectations. I'm glad it won the televote, that is a huge achievement for a country like Portugal. 2: Ireland (10/10) - Robbed very hard. Everything was flawless, next to having easily the most catchy song this year. She is a queen and deserved much better. 1: Ukraine (10/10) - Yeah, the live performance solidified this as my definitive favourite. This guy is insane, his vocals and stage presence are out of this world. Everything about this is perfection.

Yeah I think Victoria, Bjarne, and Maria (and maybe Artem, at least at the time of the rehearsals) were sick. With Bjarne and Maria it was a bit more obvious I think. I feel so bad because this seems to be a recurring theme at this competition.

Tele votes are subjective meaning voting for big countries even they are not great . I’m happy for Georgia 🇬🇪 but it was not better than Albania. It’s difficult song to sing but you remember Albanian song you can catch it but it’s what it is. Georgia deserved and Albania should have been in the second. Overall kids did great. I didn’t like that Spain did not created the green room and get briefly interview from each kid so they would have been interacting with public more

​​@@emilyyamasaki4968 Artem was definitely sick during rehearsals but it was minor enough that he recovered by the show days. Bjarne, yeah, he did sound a bit sick... Maria not sure if sickness, strain/fatigue from having to sing notes not in the best part of her range, or both. Victoria I don't think she was sick. I think it was pressure. Sure she nailed the whistle notes on TV multiple times but JESC can deal a different level of pressure that tends to NOT mix well with whistle notes.

Cyprus 🇨🇾 Maria Pissarides: Crystal Waters I absolutely loved! Robbed, this was amazing, her voice was great and dance break was fireeee 6. Poland 🇵🇱 Dominik Arim: All Together this was just beautiful! Poland has grown in me so much this year like at the start it was my 12th, I love the lyrics and his voice, the "I'm not afraid to bloom like a flower" part was wonderful and such a nice touch and relates to the slogan although the head thing made me laugh and should'nt have been there 😭 6. Estonia 🇪🇪 Annabelle Ats: Tánavad sorta expected, sorta not? but once again robbed, she improved a lot from her rehearsal clip and I really liked it. My Top 17 with non professional comments: 1. 🇺🇦Ukraine - This is like ESC level. Winner, amazing vocals, staging, and song. 2. 🇵🇹Portugal - Very good song written by her with great message. Sad she didn't hit the note, but I know she can do it anyway because I heard it. Deserved their best result very much. 3. 🇲🇰North Macedonia - Robbed every year. Studio version seemed kinda basic, but live cmon the vocals were so good. Maybe the staging isn't that good but they tried, it's expensive for them. And honestly I didn't even care for the staging because the vocals were enough. Vocals > staging. Defo enjoyed. 4. 🇮🇪Ireland - Amazing production. Catchy, vocals on top, outfit was not my taste and I'd do it differently but that's just me. Irish only made it better. 5. 🇩🇪Germany - Very good performance. Bjarne shouldn't be disappointed. I enjoyed it much. 6. 🇦🇱Albania - I really liked this song, both studio version and live, her vocals really do a job. Very nice Albania, good era for them. 7. 🇨🇾Cyprus - Nice dance break, vocals weren't that perfect but she moved much so understandable. I like this song 8. 🇮🇹Italy - This grew up on me as well, studio version was meh but live turned out very good and catchy so it's there 9. 🇪🇪Estonia - The vocals were good, just a bit quiet. Estonia deserve better. 10. 🇳🇱Netherlands - It's pretty basic, but it sounds just good. 11. 🇪🇸Spain - It's fun but slightly annoying honestly. I have an enthusiastic for 🇦🇲 doing next time well because yeah weak vocals + we had earlier contest which wasn't enough to practices and work hard. But this everything was good but not vocals. Hopefully another artist will be choosen right for Armenia 🇦🇲❤️
