there is similar music in africa bands like -tinariwen -bombino -mdou moctar -etran delair -songhoy blues -kader tarhanine -tamikrest -afous d afous -ezza abadaya -tikoubouine these are african mostly touareg bands who make similar sounds like jr but ofc with their respective cultural influences,the similarity is crazy tho,i just post it as a lover of good music as you are!

The black keys have gone down in my estimation now that I've discovered the original master! It's almost a direct lift of his riffs, even the drums and 2 man band format are the same. Loving this stuff. Will always love the black keys tho

Jara Maddox old blues has that feel to it. It's real people singing and playing about real life things. It's relatable. Its raw and uncensored real life goin on. It's good to listen to the soul with the blues.

I first heard Junior on a late night public radio program that was featuring "blues". All I could think or say was FUCK! This guy was the real fucking deal blues man. The tone on the guitar, the subject matter, the overall sound. If you wanna drink yourself some bourbon and get low, anything this guy recorded is there for you.
