Thank you to the families who donated their loved ones brains so that our family could find some understanding and peace in such a heart-wrenching situation as suicide. It is a comfort to know (for me at least) that his suicide was caused by the traumatic brain injury and not from the tortures of depression and hopelessness. Prayers to all the families who have to loose loved ones, no matter what the reasons. God bless!!

@@jimwalker7486 Do you have a history of repetitive head trauma? From sports or something else? Or are you just talking about a single traumatic brain injury?
@jimwalker74865 ай бұрын
@@AnPrimWrestler yes, I have a history of repetitive head trauma up until age 20, from sports Then I had quite a few accidents. I've had over 10 concussions that I know of . My previous comment should have read "TBI's". So far, I've been diagnosed with abnormal brain MRI and CNS Demyelinating disease. I pledged to donate my brain to the Concussion Legacy Foundation.

@@jimwalker7486 I'd recommend starting to take a few supplements that have been shown to disrupt the aggregation of Tau protein in the brain, possibly slowing down the progression of neurodegenerative diseases that involve Tau buildup, like CTE. These are: Theracurmin (A highly bioavailable form of Curcumin, the active ingredient in Turmeric), Green Tea Extract, Ceylon Cinnamon, and Resveratrol. Dosages: At least 180 mgs of Theracurmin daily, 500-1000 mgs of green tea extract daily, 1000 mgs of ceylon cinnamon daily, and 1000 mgs of resveratrol daily. It certainly can't hurt, and each one of these supplements has good empirical data backing up its effectiveness at disrupting tau. Have a great day and god bless man

My nephew died 1 year ago today from suicide. His brain was studied at the same place Junior's was. While he did not have CTE, there was SIGNIFICANT brain damage, believed to be caused by a serious concussion (and smaller concussions received from high school football). There is MOST DEFINITELY a correlation between brain damage and spontaneous suicide. My nephew displayed all the symptoms of CTE: irrational, unprovoked anger and changes in personality.
@r-70126 жыл бұрын
Saundra Renz I understand your nephew better than anyone else. I have post concussion syndrome and there is seriously no hope for brain trauma like this. I have lack of impulse control, personality change, fatigue, cognitive issues, disassociation, etc ever since my concussion from 10 months ago. I don't blame your nephew for committing suicide. Might even join him soon enough too

Collard Greens me to although I haven’t been diagnosed with post concussive syndrome. i’m 99% sure I have it. which would also mean guaranteed CTE post mortem. I just don’t want to say anything to doctors yet. I played football basically all my life including college. gave and received a lot of concussive and subconcussive blows and hits in those 10 years. now I feel like I can barely function. behavior that people consider crazy has become a norm for me. i’m extremely depressed most of the times. the smallest things can irritate me to the maximum. mood swings are drastic. one day i’m fine and the next day I hate life. my memory is even starting to fail me and i’m only 23. i’m tired of people bringing up things from a few days before and I don’t remember them. i’m tired of the constant brain fog. i’m tired of not being able to concentrate. i’m tired of the sleepless nights. i’m tired of people calling me crazy. most of all i’m tired of the depression. I feel like it’s no longer a matter of if but a matter of when.

In the head it sends a lot of protein for what they call it to the brain and usually you rest for a minute and then the protein goes away but in football you keep getting you keep you keep it up and the protein never goes away and it ended up hardening and then the interactors can't submit to each other and then your brain is just like seized up

regardless of having new cushioned helmet, sadly, the brain is not made to endure that much shake and hits. yet, they will still suffer concussion, whether mild or severe. The only thing to do to resolve it, is to ban that game. Unfortunately, it is like the smoking business and casino, WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

You're not supposed to be hitting your head. Why do you enjoy hitting your head? Your brain has many chemicals and proteins to have a specific purpose in a normal brain. Your brain is also segregated preventing chemicals and proteins from mixing. When you injure a capillary in your brain and if it leaks into the white matter, it causes inflammation. This doesn't mean you have CTE but it is an important step because it can make the brain deranged by activating enzymes that create abnormal proteins. It becomes a cascading effect, therefore chronic. Helmets do not slow deceleration from sudden changes in motion. No such thing exists.
