In this latest instalment of UX portfolio reviews, I'll walk through the latest viewer submission which covers junior designer's user research and product design case studies. While her work is truly well presented, there are a few bits that could make the UX case study stand out even further.
Sometime back I asked my viewers if there's anyone who would like to get their UX portfolios reviewed and shared with the broader audience. While it must be daunting to put it out there, constructive feedback and specific pointers can make all the difference. Would you like your UX design portfolio to be reviewed with constructive pointers? Drop me a line.
I recently also created a playlist that contains all my videos on UX portfolios here: • UX Portfolios, design ...

so refreshing to see you give positive feedback to someone who completed CF. I am almost done with the same program and this has given me hope that what we are learning can translate well to the field! thank you!

Hey V! Another great video, I find the feedback really in-depth and helpful to apply to my own case study, especially the part about explaining why you picked an app as the outcome. I also found the part when you said you need to explain the reason you picked certain participants interesting, this is something I would've merely stated instead of explained it was in a BRD for example. I'm also a CF student like Kira, and I think in our course material it wasn't highlighted that 3 interview participants isn't enough. It's good to find this out, just wish the course taught us this haha. For a theoretical project like this, from a bootcamp, would you still suggest interviewing more people? Thanks.

Hey, glad it's helpful. Yes, the more user segments you want to cover the more interviews you'd need to do to understand them fully. There's a good balance between doing just enough of interviews until the themes start to repeat themselves and decision for rightful amount comes with practice. Generally speaking, more interviews is always better and talking to just one person for a user type is definitely not enough

I got married and I moved to USA and now I’m translating my resume and my cases (I just started learning UX and UI) but I have 8 years of experience in research and design because I studied Communications. I hope I can find in my vocabulary good words to use in my Study cases in English

Hi please does a the solution to UX problem need to be an app, can it be sort of like a physical activity?

Wait..so you’re saying there’s no point in including the tools used in my portfolio?
@vaexperience
@vaexperience 3 жыл бұрын
Unless you made those tools and it's what case study is about, there's no point. Some incompetent recruiters and hiring teams will care about the stack, but you can just list those out in a resume or an about page. But if you're going to add tools in your ux case studies and not add something that is truly relevant to the story, it will signal lack of experience/skill, not the other way around.
