Such a beautiful wonder these trees are! PS - My bonsai that the cats destroyed last year sat dormant for a year. It was only a stalk stick - just a single trunk without a single branch. The trunk just thickened until it was about twice its size. It stayed supple and I could tell it wanted to live, so I waited... I fed and watered that stick for an entire year, and just a few weeks ago, about year 3, I saw a few buds on the stick! It's now growing a bunch of new branches. They are twisted and only growing out one side of the tree, but it came back. I'm so happy and grateful for your advice - thank you! 🎉

Absolutely amazing and beautiful. I have always loved bonsai and started my adventure three years ago. Have little to show but am excited about the future journey. Someday I may have a tree or two that will look amazing also. Thanks

Wow.. kunichuwa, how can you twist those trunk/branches or deadwood? Arigato
@danielkosta31345 ай бұрын
These are trees that lived in the mountains for hundreds of years. They were slowly bent and twisted by forces of nature. Later they were collected and brought to a nursery yo recover and be further styled by professional bonsai artists. Some living areas may be converted to deadwood and branches may be wired and moved but the major bends are from nature.

NAH - dont like all those carved trunks
@danielkosta31345 ай бұрын
That is a very important part of junipers. Most of the deadwood formed while the trees were growing in the mountains ss junipers grow in very harsh environments.

I don't like your narrow idea of what bonsai is, it's not simply "natural" trees, it is an art. KZbinrs don't understand it they just mouth off some nonsense about their idea of natural.
@danielkosta31345 ай бұрын
@@CornellD.Cavendishi did not state that bonsai are simply trees taken from nature and then grown without any further shaping. The trees in the video all began as very old trees that were collected and then developed as bonsai. Yes bonsai is an art and involves wiring, pruning, shaping to begin the desired design as well as life long refinement of this image. To simply pot up a tree dug from the wild, or a plant from a nursery, into a bonsai pot and never doing any shaping or refinement is not making it a bonsai. A bonsai is an artistically shaped tree planted in an appropriate designed pot. The trees in the video are hundreds of years old and have probably been developed as bonsai for several decades. I resent your insinuation that i am someone scanning you tube and making comments about a topic they know nothing about. I have been doing bonsai for 42 years. My trees have been exhibited in regional bonsai shows and have won several first place awards. I think by now i know what I'm doing. So what are your credentials?

Very beautiful trees but unfortunately they are well beyond the financial means of most bonsai hobbyists. To inspire people to try bonsai it would be better to show more affordable and smaller trees. The current elite of bonsai professionals only work on very large and very expensive materials. This does nothing for average grower and may discourage them as they will never be able to have such trees.
@bonsaiempire5 ай бұрын
Hi Daniel! Im not sure I agree with you - but if you want to see more affordable material we have plenty videos on that (a lot of our projects started with trees costing $20).
@danielkosta31345 ай бұрын
@@bonsaiempire yes I know that you do and I have watched many of them. I was only referring to this particular video. The trees shown here would cost thousands of dollars and are actually more priceless.
@bonsaiempire5 ай бұрын
Hey Daniel! Yes, this video shows the best of the best. I dont think it makes sense making a video of 20 mediocre juniper bonsai though :) For affordable bonsai styling we have dozens of videos too!

i would say it is good to see all categories , this top, young trees, ... and definitely trying make my own tree, again and again

So you think we should view only beginner trees? Cmon now vid is called "inspiration" we need more of this NOT how-to videos. Im assuming you arrived here from Herons and Nigel, now you can see what bonsai really is.
