I’m at the point in my bonsai journey where I’m realizing that I need to take into consideration how much time I actually have to work on trees. I then need to prioritize otherwise vital work gets missed and trees get overgrown. At the start you just get as many trees as possible and begin the journey. Hahaha, now I have too many and too many low quality trees that I need to offload.
A second working of a small juniper bonsai. I’m realizing how much time it takes to wire junipers. Thanks watching and reading if you made it this far. Sometime I wonder if anybody read the descriptions. 😀👍 go bonsai

Love it. Good naturalistic design. I can see the impact of the wind and the snow. Just one point : place the tree a little out of center to the right.

Mid Summer tune up. Looks very nice. If course will look better when it fills out a bit.

Thanks, i agree filled out in certain areas and then reduced in others to make the trunk appear larger and tree older in general. Thanks for the comment

Great question. Alberta will be different. In bc it’s managed regionally. Contact your local forestry and explain/ask what you are up to, be nice kind and considerate. Know protected species and mention what type of species you want to collect and from where. The permits are for specific areas. Under power lines is always a bonus as those trees get chopped periodically. Beside the road is usually owned by highways. Of course can’t collect in parks. Good luck 👍. Happy bonsai.
