@@lgschaef ya they can sting you with their dorsal or pectoral fins. But most catfish venom isn’t that harmful to humans. Their are many other fish that can spine you, including very common fish like bass, bluegill, etc… Then other common fish have teeth and can deliver a nasty bite like pike, musky, walleye, etc… its just a risk that comes with fishing. Most fish can potentially hurt you in some way, thats just how it is

Panfish will eat almost anything...mini-marshmallows are money for bluegills and sunfish, they love em. Add food coloring as sometimes they'll prefer colors other than white. Catfish will eat certain types of soap when chunked off and thrown on a catfish hook...almost any meat or deli product will get a catfish to bite. It's definitely fun to hit the corner store and use random junk food as bait...I've run out of bait in the past and have had a lot of luck on salty snacks like cheetos, pork rinds, and funyons.
