I purchased the "Dusky Pink Little Lady", she has made the trip to Arkansas, United States...Rec'd it today, Christmas in June...!! Can't put it down, examining over and over, she is so lovely...You can see Sara Lee puts her heart into making these, they are just action packed with imagination, creativeness and pure joy in putting them together, what a skill. It will be my favorite toy to just sit and look through and be inspired from, am motivated to do some creating too. SOOO CONTENTED WITH "DUSKY PINK"!!

If you are wondering, the handwritten letter is on onion skin. In the middle 20th century airmail was expensive and postage was charged by weight. Onion skin was used for carbon copies of typewritten correspondence and so was readily available, it’s likely the writer wanted to save on costs.

The glory of this journal leaves me speechless. And the world 'glorious' is the right word. Sara-Lee, you take heirloom journal making to a new high. Regarding the 1941 letter written on the super thin paper: I think it might have been called 'onion-skin' because of its thinness. It was used during World Ward II for correspondence as it was very light in weight and therefore it was more economical to mail, particularly air-mail, than regular stationary. The letter on the thin paper is on rice paper. It was used to cut down on weight during WW2 especially for airmail letters.

Your journals are some of the most beautiful and most creative that I have ever seen (and I have seen hundreds). Also, although I have said it before, you use gelli prints the best way I have ever seen. Most just look like a mess of pottage, really ugly and useless, but yours are carefully thought out and beautiful to look at. Furthermore, it is so much more original and satisfying than always using purchased paper kits which are, after all, someone else's art work.
