Thank you, Melanie, for explaining the intersecting lines, textures, etc. for attracting the eye and adding interest to our clusters. Clusters are a pain for me, and the "formulas" don't make sense for a pretty cluster. This made sense to me! Hopefully this wisdom with the formulas will help me enjoy making clusters. You make clusters look so easy. My ocd makes me crazy, my clusters are not straight 😂. I’m trying to not worry so much about it. I find most of the time I like the messy clusters when I come back the next day.

Love this comment. This process is about giving yourself enough time to relax so the creative side of your brain can play, putting the paper wherever feels best at the time, you can’t get this wrong. Look to make four layers and stagger them into neat steps within the placement. If you feel flustered just make them anyway and get though the hot mess. When you have a pile of them line them up in neat rows on clean card or paper and even frame them in a perfect square background or rectangle and create artwork where you control and contain the messy chaos within a frame. This will bring neat order on a page or tag. It’s great to play with and pleasing to the eye. Perfect lined up clusters look cool too…just do it your way and embrace the inner workings of your brain 🥰🦋
