This is a gorgeous journal. Pansies were one of my mother’s favorite flowers so this would always remind me of her. She died in 1979 when i was 29 years old

Thank you Evie! If you look carefully at the pages that are bound in there is a short page that is an illustrated book page. Look on the back of the paper sack and you’ll see that it is glued along the edge of that short bit of page that is bound in, creating a tuck spot on the back of the paper sack. Does that make sense?

kathleen, may I ask you (I might have asked you before, but in that case I forgot 😅), what paper do you print on? I have such a hard time not making my journals bulky. I love your work btw, the joural is truly gorgeous!!!

Thanks so much Ida! As for paper, I use a mix, but very often I use Southworth Ivory Parchment, which is 24 pound and I buy it at Staples here in the USA. If I use a heavier paper or cardstock, I choose an ivory “cover stock” which is 65 pound. This gives me a bit more heft for tags or sturdier pockets, but doesn’t add as much bulk as the 110 lb. cardstock. I don’t know how that translates for you in Europe, sadly. I hope that helps.

How do you get your hand dyed papers so flat and wrinkle free?

I iron them, haha, and choose the best ones. Some turn out better than others. But try ironing them - high heat with steam.
