Getting back to what a true junk journal was meant to be....use what you have: paper around the house, your pens and paints or any media to decorate and no rules.

This is the first junk journaling video that has shown me how to collage whole pages without full layering and I love it! Feels more in line with the purpose of repurposing what you have lying around and not just glueing store bought ephemera down on established paper.

i knew i'd get a few ideas even if i am not a beginner junk journal maker! love the stamping on the inside of envelopes. Great idea rounding the corners of each page. This is my go-to way of making a journal when i travel. it becomes a place to write and record and a place to save all my ticket stubs, packaging from the country i am visiting, some sample type in the language of the place, a postcard, a menu...all i need is a glue stick! thank you Meg

Very interesting. I've never heard of or seen Junk Journalling before, so it's a little ... strange ... to me. But only because it's different and doesn't conform to my preconceived notions of what a journal is. I can see doing something like this, but adapting it so that I can document my D&D campaign, for instance. Sometimes taking detailed notes in a book is very difficult, but I do end up with scraps all over with notes jotted about who did what, who rolled what, and what some NPC said that gave us a ton of lore. I also can see doing this to use up the bits of scrap, pamphlets, brochures, show tickets, and other things that are collected while travelling! Thanks so much!

IDK I have watched junk journaling videos for years and I think that the genre has changed drastically and now has more say sub divisions like the dewey decimal 600 section of technology which is broken down into subsections like 620 being Engineering and 660 being Chemical technology. I think the 600 of junk journaling is using pure junk like wrappers and stuff. I think there are vintage journals and art journals and glube books that are all under this. Part of why I like pure junk junk journaling is that you don't need to be an artist and know the principles of art or have an art education to do it.
