I knew migrant families as far back as the 60's and 70's. I met more late 80's and early 90's. They went through a lengthy process, they were so grateful and happy. Their spirit was one of gratitude and service. They were honest, proud people and thankful to work and pay taxes. Some of them refused handouts, all they wanted to do was work and get their kids into some sort of education programs, get to know a local community and live a simple, honest, law abiding life,,,,,. They had a completely different spirit and attitude compared to most migrants today. The entitlement disease has poisoned a couple generations from all over the world.

However, this is where the complexity is. If you make money under the table, you don't pay taxes, but all legal residents do. If you are a skillful laborer, come to this country legally.
