Also, everyone keeps talking about how nagito talked for too long, but it literally didn't matter. People think that being lucky revolves only around the person themselves but if Izuru was truly lucky, his luck would be situational, where everything would just happen to go the way he wanted(my opinion). The way I like to see it is that regardless of whether he was in the room or not, the gun was always jammed from the very beginning because he didn't want Junko to die yet.

I don't think she would surrend to him, just because she doesn't care about anything at all, she has Mukuro on her side, that would 100% continue Junko's path. a interesting titbit of how nagito and makotos luck differentiate. makotos luck stems from stacking unlikely coincidences. creating the best outcome for him. which even with junko's ultra analysis can't predict. with his luck there is no way to tell what information is relevant. nagito on the hand is based on a luck scale. it's somewhat unpredictable in what happens, but it's easy to tell when it happens. his luck keeps switching from good to bad. so the more good luck he gets the more bad luck he experience an vice versa. which is why he is obsessed with having despair first so that hope can over take it. he can intentionally increase the power of his good luck by having himself experience bad stuff intentionally. like Russian roulette with 5 bullets. or literal stabbing and killing himself. the more he suffered the more good luck he gets. and vice versa.

My interpretation is that Makoto's luck has a purpose, while Nagito's is just that: luck. Makoto's luck kicks in exactly when he needs it too, but it never gets in the way or outright solves things for him. On the other hand Nagito could pretty much shoot the moon down if he tried. I mean ch5 is propf enough that he just needs to want something and it happens: what he wanted was for hope to carry on and he thought that Chiaki was the hope, when it was the other way around. That's what I think anyway

Nagito became sort of crazy from his extremely good luck, and the SHSL Luck title really belongs to him, but his is always good luck, and only good luck. Makoto's is different, he was just given the SHSL Luck title coincidentally, his luck isn't always bad and isn't always good. (Like if a plane they're going to ride is about to crash, Nagito will still live and even fall in a deserted island with perfect utilities, while Naegi will end up missing the flight, which is bad luck yet good luck at the same time). Perhaps the reason that Nagito can sense she's a despair is because he's just obsessed with hope just as she is obsessed with despair, they're like magnets that oppose each other, while Makoto in the other hand is hope itself, he just like everyone and doesn't immediately think the worst of them, instead he looks for their good points and HOPE they're good
