Junkyard Chrysler C body cars: 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, and 1974 Newport and New Yorker

Mr. Goodpliers walks us around more vehicles at the Joplin Missouri junkyard. Today it's Mopar "C" body cars of the "fuselage" era. 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973 and 1974 New Yorker and Newport cars are in the collection, plus a surprise 1968 Dodge!

I spent 8 years in a 71 Chrysler Newport 4 door sedan. My dad bought it new in April of 71 and kept it until March of 80. My mother and I usually took it in for service at the dealer and loved looking at the new cars . It had the 383 2 barrel , clothe interior, ac, power steering, power brakes, sure grip, vinyl top, am fm radio , sherwood green. My father said he would have had the transmission replaced and gave it to me to drive but I wanted a Trans Am. So the car was sold privately . It was very clean rust free low mile car with just over 56,000 miles . I wonder if it's still going or met the grim crusher?

The last time I saw this many big Chryslers lined up together was a a monster truck show in the late 80s when I was a kid.. I thought they were all gone!!!

This video gives me mixed feelings, sad to see but glad to see there are a pile of these left. Im a GM guy by choice, buick olds and Pontiac specifically but i love 69-73 Chrysler C bodies. Id never consider buying a Cadillac back then, i go straight to Chrysler for full size luxury. If i gad to choose between a 69 charger and a 69 Imperial for free, id go with the mini limo.

I have had a couple missed opportunities for Imperials. That's one bucket list car for me. I have three 1971 Cadillacs. I love the body, it is so similar to the fuselage style but with GM's own flair.

I scored a 69 Imperial in 2019. Worth it but finding radiator parts and the sequential signals is a nightmare.

I Bought The Same Car ( 3rd Car ) For $100. Bucks Drove The Hell Out Of It And Sold It For $200. Bucks, But Soon Regreted Sellin It ,90 Mile An Hour And The Car Just Floated ,That's When They Made Them Right. !!!

Most all of these in the video got scrapped. If you need parts, check out the next couple of "Rust Ranch" videos I post. Joe has several parts trucks. We will also be packaging a 1963 short bed project truck together from cab, frame, and bed, if you are looking for one to build.

Wooow, exactly what i like! :) i hope you´ve choosen the 4 door hardtop brougham & the 74 new port sedan, think these are the rarest ones with a beautyful look.. the fuselage aera was so great in styling.... Are they still for sale? I really hope anyone else like you has safed it... I can´t beleave that people crush cars like these and when i look at these cars, there isn´t a lot rust, really like "nothing" ...i wish i had that condition at my 67 caprice 4 door hardtop when i became it... to rebuild whole wheel arches by the own hands with new, flath sheet metal is a difficult but nice work to do. So it´s a lot more not really nice for me to see people trashing and crushing classic cars. Because i think there are more people like me in uture, who´re looking for an father son restoration project or something else like that. And these cars are affordable and rebuildable. It´s more like a hobby, it´s a lifestyle with old nice cars ! :)

The only thing I don't like about them is because they are unibody construction..I like the 73 chrysler newport my pastor had one years ago if I find one I'm going to make a chassis that will connect to the One that comes down the front and make it go all the way to the back.. a old guy I know had a 1960 plymouth fury it had the big tail fins and it looked very solid it was sunken in the ground and I used a bumper jack to pick up the back and when I did the rear end stayed on the ground and I looked up at the underside and it was all gone and a minute later I heard that popping sound and it broke into so I let it back down to the ground I didn't have it picked up really high..
