There is a plastic shield supposed to be on the window cranks and door handles, but you can cut circles out of a milk jug. Just make them 1/16 bigger all the way around . You’ll thank me later.Put heavy visqueen ( plastic sheeting)behind the door panels to keep the water off them. I don’t care what those panels are made of, and for easy installation, slip a broom handle in behind them, and have Ralphie bow them out a little all the way across, while you easily slip them into place, with no cussing, and NO damage!

Nice work. Used the same design door handle clip tool over 40 years ago 😁Small tips: Start arm rest screws with a hand driver - you can 'feel' you way in better and not bung up either the heads or the threads/clips. Johnson's paste wax with 000 steel wool on interior chrome. It'll lubricate, fill remaining pits (to prevent rust) and shine when you buff it with a rag. Also, anytime you have the door panels off, lubricate the window regulators, tracks/ways and vacuum/clean the weatherstrip runs for the windows then lube with silicone spray. It'll save you a lot of heartache (of various types) later. Ask me how I know 😎

Ralphie is gonna be an awesome driver. He already has complete respect for the machine he is operating, and he knows more about how it works than 99.7% of the other drivers on the road. In a couple of years when he's 16 or 17, I don't think you're gonna get calls from the cops about him street racing - he's smarter than that. I picture a Ralphie burnout or two in the high school parking lot, but nothing really dangerous or stupid at high speeds. Mechanical Engineering, Ralphie. Mech Eng is your calling. (Kid reaches under the dashboard and starts the car by touching two wires together..... LOL.) Thanks for another great video.

If you can't find those plastic bushings that go behind the regulator crank and the door latch handle, you can make them out of a plastic milk jug. To get the bubbles out of the door panels you can carefully heat them with a heat gun and get them to lay down properly sometimes. If that fails you just have to take them off and re-glue them. Great job on the hood, door panels, and package tray!
