I grew up with a very abusive father every day was yelling screaming and tantrums it effected me deeply in life from schooling to my own happiness even 30 years later. To see your son happy with what looks like good self esteem is enjoyable, he is very lucky to have this healthy positive environment growing up

I agree with you MASH MASH. My father was verbally as well as physically abusive as well. I can relate how this has affected me as well. I've grown since, but I chose to forgive my father and moved on. I agree with what you mentioned with Ralphie. He seems like a great young kid and will take what he has learned (and still learning) and will apply it to other aspects in life positively. Have a good evening and rest of your week!

Love your channel. I’m restoring a 52 Ford 1 ton (F3) that my grandad bought new for his building business. I have many great memories of me and my brothers piling into that with my dad and going to help him at his Christmas tree farm. I managed to get the truck back and am in the tear down phase. That tool tray behind the seat is actually factory and it looks like your truck was painted the same color as my grandad’s the color was called Glenmist Green. Mine has the flathead v8 and heavier axles etc but love that signature grille. I found out the “teeth” in the grill are called dagmars and I think they make that truck look really tough! God Bless you and your family.

That truck is optioned out! Most of them didnt come with a radio or anything. My cousin bought a 1950 model, almost identical to this, other than the color. His had a flathead V8 and a 3 speed with granny low. He had it in the shop having it restored by his niece's now ex husband, who was draggin his feet getting it done. He had it at his shop for probably 3 years. My cousin was having it restored for parades and for me to drive him around our old backroads, just for fun. I was looking so forward to it. He was alot older than me (76) and had been in bad health for nearly 30 years. The truck was a few months away for being done. In August last year he came down with Covid and passed away. He was my preacher, my best friend and my next door neighbor for my entire 41 years of life. Ive had a really hard time since then, because I spent alot of time with him. Him being gone is still a huge missimg chunk out of my life, not being able to go down the road to spend the day with him. This truck just reminded me of the fun we almost got to have together driving his. This put a smile on my face. Thanks Josh. I appreciate yall makin these videos for us to watch and enjoy Buddy.

Such an awesome family. I enjoy watching how your family interacts and seemingly enjoys working on vehicles together. I would have given an arm (almost/maybe.....not) to be able to share similar moments with my family. My father didn't have patience nor knowledge to share with me and my wife despises my project vehicles because I went about it wrong. I tried to get her motivated on a Plymouth Duster one time to no avail. I bought a 72 duster and dropped in a date coded 360 with factory J heads, but she didn't like to get sweaty or dirty. But, she at least knows how to change a tire as well as oil change on her car/suv. Good times, thanks for sharing video.....and nice F1.

That's a good idea except those old carburetors I think are made of some kind of pot metal that wouldn't take well to re-threading (or drilling larger and re-threading). Fortunately those old carbs are easily available, including the glass bowl part if one got busted.

My Dad had a 55. This video brings back some great memories of sitting on the Tail gate holding on to the chain while going down the road He painted it by brush A fire engine red. He sold it in 1977 To a friend who still has it today. . Lots of firewood hauled in that truck.

I see that Ralphie is really growing up. Watching him take the plugs out was a real treat. Thanks for these great videos and learning. See, I grew up with these vehicles. My uncle who farmed had a Ford very close to this. I want to say his was a 51 model. I know the front was shaped much like this one. I remember those round pedal pads.

My good friend and I put my late grandfathers old 60 F100 back on the road back in 2018 on his gravel driveway. Its a surreal feeling hearing a truck that was a part of the family roar back to life. That kids ear to ear grin proved that :-)

What a great truck with just enough homemade character to keep it special! I had a '50 Fat Fender with a flathead 6. Paid thirty-five dollars and dragged it 150 miles home with a tow chain, pulling it with my '64 Buick Skylark, my new wife driving the towed truck. Put a used fuel pump from my parts pile in it and drove it for a couple years before selling it to a friend for what I gave for it. Thanks for the memories! And thanks for what you do for other families.

My w8fe gives me hell for watching vids but she watched a few of yours with me and that's ok?? Ralphie reminds her of my youngest son when he was growing up, hes a fire truck mechanic in the Air Force, has been in for 7 years now. Best little apprentice mechanic I've ever had. Now he's married and it's a crazy mess finding non millennial helpers that aren't lazy and mostly useless. When I was racing dirt track stock cars, my boys were in the pits handling business when I came in from a race. Proud Dad, I know you are to, God Bless your family, you guys are great!! And very entertaining 😄
