Junkyard SN95 Brake caliper Cleanup for my Fox Body Mustang

This is the beginning of my 5 lug swap disc conversion for my 1986 fox body mustang. Lots of videos to come I just got ancy and decided to paint and rebuild these things since I already had them.

Man those PBR dual piston calipers with a set of Hawk HPS pads are what i used on road course with my full weight 95 GT for over a year with the only issue was a cracked rotor from a red flag and sitting with my foot on the brake. Just that set up and pads are 20x better than stock fox brakes and overpowered my 275/40/17 R888s a few times so you will be amazed at the clamping force for sure. I stepped up to Cadillac ATS 4 piston Brembo’s after running a year on an upgrade to Cobra brakes. Color is bad ass man.

Awesome!! I’m super glad to hear good feedback about them! And if they can overpower R888s they must be pretty spicy! And I’ve been seeing people swap to those brembos more and more as of late. Are you liking them?? I may step up to them after some time is past I’m just trying to save right now since I’m bout to drop a ton on my rear end lol

@@iamchazhaynes7074 truthfully for a street/daily thats not going to see severe constant braking Brembo’s are basically a fashion statement because unless your car weighs 4k lbs you would never use 1/4 of their ability with any street tires. I live them though as i have backed away from the Hawk dtc70s to the HPS pads with same grip but $90 cheaper per set but still use 60s on the rear for trail braking when needed. The calipers and some hawk HPS front and anything rear is more than enough for weekend autoX, drag racing or trips to mexico for sure, i have another set of ATS for my 65 F100 with crown vic front suspension, 18 mustang irs with a Barra and it will be used quite hard when done but im sure it wont even see 3/4 of the potential of those calipers

Good to know! That’s kind of what I thought for my setup to be honest. And I’ll look into those pads forsure! And I remember how is that barra coming?! That’s such a cool build! My friend is barely assembling his barra now it took him FOREVER to get some of the parts needed from Australia. I definitely would love to see that truck at some point!

You can buy 2013- Cadillac ATS calipers which are brembo 4 piston and use a 13in rotor for cheap. They are 115 for the driver side and 125 for the passenger side brand new on Amazon. Then use the S&S kit which comes with the offset holes. I got them for my Fox they are massive but weigh less then the 94-95 which is what I had. It’s a easy swap and is cheaper then any other option I’ve seen

I’ve been seeing that swap quite a bite more lately! Thanks for the suggestion I’ll look into it more those brembos definitely have way more stopping power and if their lighter that’s definitely something to consider! I might switch over I’m just nickle and diming everything since I’m about to drop a ton into the rear 🥲😂
