Great overview of your build !! I'm just starting a Volvo 240 wagon, with an LS 5.3 truck motor. I'm also going single 78/75 turbo. Totally a junkyard type sleeper build. The goal is 10's for under 5 grand.. The 240 does come in on the lighter side at 2900 pounds surprisingly. I scored the 5.3 with a 4L80e trans for 200 bucks, and I got all the custom mounts for the motor, cross member, and 8.8 rearend mounts done for 450. I only paid 200 bucks for the wagon and sold the old red block for 200 bucks out of it.. So I'm off to a good start !!

So you went with the Holley Terminator? Also I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time and telling us all of that information because that was definitely helpful! I am very interested in making my car a turbo car but I also want it to be A Streetcar! I also want to keep it a 6-speed car! But of course like everybody else in this game, I want to go as fast as I possibly can LOL... Money is an issue with me right now because we just had a house fire and I lost everything I've ever had in a mobile home that was uninsured! Starting from scratch is definitely not fun! But enough about that, I've got a 5-3 in a 99 hugger orange F body with a stage 2 built T56 there's a lot of stuff done to my car but it was built to be naturally aspirated when I bought the car. I have a 2004 Cadillac CTS that was given to me from a family member it is a 6-cylinder car automatic and it needs a transmission. I'm thinking about taking the 5.3 out of my Camaro and putting it in the Cadillac and making a fun little car for my wife to drive on the Street.. but as for my Camaro, I'm looking to find a lq4 and put a turbo on it. I do not know the first thing about turbos!? I'm sure I have a million and two questions to ask you lol.

What age do you run with the meth and what kind of timing do you run with the meth And how much timing do you pull when you intake temperature go to high and temp do you start to pull timing?
@BuildTuneRace3 жыл бұрын
So with this setup I treat the meth like an intercooler. So I tune it like the car has a air to air intercooler not so much any changes for meth since I’m only using the meth to cool the intake temps. Afr at 20psi of boost is around 11.2-11.4 temps above 175 I start to pull 1* of timing around 250* it will pull around 4-5 degrees.

@@BuildTuneRace no problem sir...im going to build a turbo 6.0
@AzKaraokeVic6 жыл бұрын
Would have been better if you focused more on how you got into the tens with the 5.3. You said the turbo and torque converter but didn’t hear what model turbo.
@BuildTuneRace6 жыл бұрын
The turbo was a Borg Warner s475 1.10 83mm exhaust on 17lbs of boost! 2step set at 3800rpm left on about 7 lbs of boost went 1.5X to the 60 ft

You’ve got me scared about my injectors now. Car has been sitting with e85 in the rails that’s about 6 months old
@BuildTuneRace6 жыл бұрын
For about $10 an injector I would clean them before you start trying to make a bunch of power. If the car is driven daily not as much to worry about bit E sitting is not good!
@Onhaey6 жыл бұрын
Build Tune Race Fic wants $25 per injector for cleaning. Hopefully I can find someone local who’s cheaper. Just another thing to add to the list lol

U should revamp that boost control. As soon as u let go of the button it should go to your target boost. No ramp And your target boost on tbrake is set in the boost icf. Not on the boost time table.

Damn throw some rc comp wheels and black hockey stripes on yours we would have twins my cars name is Heisenberg aka Walter White my hockey stripes have little Heisenberg's all in them and a big sticker on the back window. I had a super low mile 07 4.8 sbe with PRC stage 2.5 ls6 heads,Summit aluminum intake and 90mm TB and rails and some 120 pound FIC injectors, arp head studs and rod bolts a LJMS cam and pac springs and comp pushrods & BTR trunion upgrade that's about it for the motor its got a Huron speed v3 single kit with a VS billet 78/75 with the 4.8 and a 50 shot of nitrous and alot of ignite red fuel I love that stuff, its got a stock case th400 with good stuff in it and a pro brake fleet pride big truck shop made my drive shaft and I went with a strange 12 bolt rear end 3.90 gear with a spool I got almost all BMR suspension pieces and k member and double adjustable Viking shocks and TRZ anti roll bar out back and some Lakewood 90/10's lol and TRZ tie downs up front. I'm running the Holley HP system and co2 kit from motion raceworks . I only run 1/8 mile it was a N/t and grudge car but after I popped the 4.8 and told what it was running no body believed it was a sbe 4.8 in a 3200 pound skreet car. The best that set up went was a 5.61 @ 127 mph it basically has a full interior just not past the front seats we fabbed up a hoop and door bars so from 30 foot the track pops see kirkeys with harness and door bars with the doors open and most of the time they don't give me no shit but hell at my two home tracks you could jb weld your seat in and use rubber bands for a seat belt and run 4.50's they dont care gotta love living in the middle of know where in Alabama but I have been putting together a ls1 stock ci just a forged rotating assembly from Texas speed and good stuff in it with the top end off the 4.8 for like a year and just got it finished about 4 months ago and new converter and VS billet 88 in it and haven't got it right yet gremlins and getting the suspension dialed back in. I feel like kicking my self in the ass for not swapping to a glide the 4.8 needed that first gear now it seems like I'm shifting right after I let go of the brake. I got vids and pics on my Facebook and insta I want to make KZbin videos but I hate being on camera and hate being on camera and talking worse lol

Since your out in Colorado hook up with Boosted Boiz I know you guys make different content but they are car guys too or hook up with SuicideCRX and his boy with the turbo LS Nissan truck and race them then go to the east coast and pick on guitarmaggedonzl1 and Streetspeed717 and Send It Steve then go to John Doc and race one of his projects then Cleetus if you beat his car Ruby then he might give you a crack at Leroy but I'm just throwing idea's out there so you can build up your audience if you collab with some of these people and do meet and greets or race events or grudge race them then you can get your audience up and start making revenue on your content

I need to talk to Kyle from Boosted Boiz and Brent from PFI. I know Derrek with the Nissan pretty good we have raced a few times! John Doc and Garrett/Cleetus is definitely a ways away but would be cool to collaborate with then at some point. Excited to hang out with those guys during Raceweek! Should be a fun year!
