Previous owner must have been a pilot. The sticker on that visor referenced VFR and IFR which stand for Visual Flight Rules and Instrument Flight Rules. VFR is for inexperienced pilots in fair weather only where you can see where you're going. IFR is for experienced pilots in low or no visibility weather where you rely on the instrumentation instead of the windows. Also, Wechem, from what I've been told, is discontinuing the standard D-Germ (it is no longer listed on their website). It looks like they will only be selling the botanical formula of D-Germ and Menards as their remaining stock on closeout.

I know the feeling of dairying an old Ute only difference is that it never sat for more than 6 months. Pretty cool that it has been maintained for 40 years straight (it’s an 81 f100) out of pure necessity. It was our only Ute capable of doing heavy hauling until 2015 when it was finally replaced by a v8 land cruiser. It’s still used as a heavy hauler and general tractor around the farm.

That bed rack holder is for an upright tool box with drawers... my gramps used to have one on his field service trucks.. Cheers, Vespa Squash!

You can mount whatever will fit into that frame. I've seen toolboxes, compressors, grinders, saws... The list goes on. Nice truck.

The sticker on the sun visor said “VFR or IFR” . So I would suspect one of the previous owners was a pilot.

probably why the truck has made it this far. pilots are all about maintenance and keeping their shit running good.

@@11secghia i was about to say most pilots don’t do repairs on their planes that’s why i love hearing the old mechanics from ww2 “when the plane is on the ground it’s mine when it’s in the air it’s the pilots”

@@11secghia Depends on the airframe I think. The pilots I work with are by and large meticulous. Can't overcome a persons base traits though. We've got a few knuckleheads.

The rack is for a generator, my father in law has one on his truck. But can also mount a welder or box.

that truck was somebody's baby in the day. It is a keeper. Loved the road trip, it was like being back in my dad's '63 again.

Man that thing sound so mean with that old exhaust - or what's left of it! Like it. But you should replace the exhaust and the winshield and maybe take care of the biggest rust spots to make it even look better than it already does..
