The tutorial is phenomenal that you have put together for everyone! Many sincere thanks from this guitar player and now a Jupiter Alto flute owner. I tried out my flute for the very first time today! Earlier, I watched someone else's video who said to have the curved head joint directly over the main body of the flute. I see that you don't assemble it like they said to do. Which way is preferable?

It's weird that they don't make the case for the bass flutes with C-foot (my Pearl Bass Flute's case is "the same" as the Jupiter's) the same as the B-footed cases: the headjoint is placed in the correct way so you don't have to twist it around for 180°.

I watched the whole thing and I don't even play the flute lol (I'm a violinist). So my question is really naive: how different is it to play the alto and bass flutes compare to your regular flute? Do you have to learn new fingerings for the same notes? I recently took up the cello and because of the size difference the fingerings are very different so I'm wondering if the different flutes work similarly or if they are just bigger versions of each other. Thanks!

Some higher notes on the bass flute might sound a bit off or less clear, and need alternative fingerings. I've got the book of Dr. Chris Potter for Bass Flute, in which these alternative fingerings are written. I haven't learned them yet though... I stick with the normal flute fingerings for now... The highest note I am able to play on my Pearl Bass Flute is its 4th octave D. Not that I will ever need that, I was just curious how high I could with it.

as far as my experience goes with the Alto is that the fingerings are the same, just you'd have to transpose if you were to play the same pitch as a c flute on and Alto flute

I'm not sure if it's the alto flute's fault or something else, but it seemed out of tune (especially the concert C scale). Still great video but I have perfect pitch and it hurt lol
