I'm over 72 years old. All of my male relative were in both the first and second world wars. My uncle bought his mother(my grandmother) a large Alexandrite drop pendant on a gold chain, which she wore around her neck. And which I spent many moments sitting on my grandmother's lap totally fascinated by the colors coming out of that stone, as my little hands turned it from side to side.

My grandfather born in 1909 passed down his Alexandrite to my Father, which he has passed down to me in 2011 it is 14mmX11mm and the color change is blue to purple. I had it appraised at a local Jeweler, they said their Machines called it a Blue Topaz 😢 My question too you is “does a blue topaz turn Vibrate Purple in soft incandescent light? Love your videos! 😊 I “Liked and Smashed that Sub Butttooon!” 😊

@@rumpelstilskin_812 the color change from blue to purple is not a topaz, this is a synthetic sapphire, that was created for jewelry in early part of last century, and it was sold as Alexandrite to consumers.
