Thank you so much for this. I would have had to pay a fortune to clean/refurb my brew group if it weren't for this video. Took me quite a while to do it, but it went back together and the coffee is perfect. Now I have the skills to keep this going for years. This should be a template for how repair videos are done. It has the perfect amount of detail and it is super relaxing to watch it all happen. When I put it back together I intentionally broke the two tabs on the side panel and didn't replace the security screw. Now it takes about 10 seconds to get the side panel off and everything looks fine assembled. This unit needs a rough cleaning every 3-6 months in my opinion, and the brew group at least once a year could use something like this.

Hello, breaking the tabs to make it easier to remove the cover is a great idea. Those are some of the obstacles intentionally built by Jura to prevent access to the inside of the machine. Good job!

I think your grinding burrs got rusted because you use oily coffee beans.try a medium roast of a bit darker if you like but with no oils. The get rancid and stick to metal and rust it. Maybe an other reason could be a faulty design on the machine that lets water vapor after the coffee is extracted to accumulate on the grinder cones. I have a Saeco and you see condensation form on the coffee shoot after making a coffee . You did an amazing job cleaning and restoring this machine!! Congratulations to you!! Great video

@@yt.myworks Thank you so much for replying. I did watch that video again but unfortunately that machine has a different design than the machine on this video ( ENA a1 or Micro 1) The "hat" is molded in frame ( not removeable like the link). I assume hat if I remove that piece the gasket would come out as well form the bottom. This is super useful but there’s a crucial part missing if you’re impatient like me! At 10:00 the grinder is removed and a hoover nozzle stuck straight into it. Then during reassambly at 13:33 we’re suddenly told about a ball bearing in the grinder that we have to be “careful not to lose”. A BIT LATE NOW! Does anyone know the size of ball bearing I need to order? I’ve searched through the hoover bag and everywhere else for it but no luck. (The outside grinder wheel no longer clicks as you turn it, and the machine just whirrs instead of grinding, so I assume the ball is really important. Sigh.) Thanks
@RuJewi2 жыл бұрын
This ball is not important for the proper operation of the grinder. It only clicks when the ring, which regulates the gap between the grindstones, is turned. You can take a soldering iron and make a small ball of solder. I also want to point out that this ring does not need to be removed at all. To remove the top grinder, you have to turn this ring counterclockwise until it stops. Then the holder of the upper grinder will disengage. It is not necessary to remove the ring. After replacing the bottom and top grinder, it goes back down again. Look at the factory markings with a marker pen. There are three: (1) on the holder of the upper grinder, (2) between the holder and the ring, and (3) on the ring. Align the marks of the upper grinder holder (1) and mark (2). Then turn the ring clockwise to align all the marks in one row.

Beautiful video! I Followed most steps regarding cleaning on the inside. I removed the side panels and the top panel. I also took out the middle (that you got out at 4:05 ). After putting everything back together the machine remains in (what i believe is) the warming-up mode. The three sizes of coffee cups and two beans lights keep on blinking. Have you encountered this problem by any chance and/or do you know how to solve it?

@@yt.myworks I ended up fixing the mistake. I misplaced the switch that checks whether the lid is placed on top of the coffee beans. Thanks for the reply!

@@Ward2011 I'm getting that same error, which led me to this video! I started to take the machine apart yesterday, do you happen to have a picture of the switch you are referring to?
@Ward2011 Жыл бұрын
@@hLip-km6wf I do not have a picture at the moment but I can try to explain it. The transparent plastic lid of the coffee beans consists of a rectangular lid and a pin-like structure at a right angle at one of the sides which goes into the Jura A1. That pin pushes down a lever that on its turn pushes down a switch. I misplaced the lever initially and placing it correctly fixed the error. Hope this helps, otherwise I maybe have some time in the near future to make a photo for you.
@hLip-km6wf Жыл бұрын
@Ward Schaefers I grabbed some pictures while it’s still apart but I guess I can’t add them here. Not sure if something is supposed to be somewhere that is missing or broken? It doesn’t look like that tab is hitting or pushing on anything when it’s set in properly and all together to trigger it is in place. Sounds like maybe I’m missing a switch or pin of some kind?

Hi, have you any ide why the brewing unit is constantly trying to reset and the drive gear is trying to constantly turn. It's making a horrible noise.
@yt.myworks2 жыл бұрын
I think the brew group is trying to find the basic position. You have to check what's broken inside the machine.
@jeffbonsall4222 жыл бұрын
@myworks Thanks for the reply. I totally agree that yhe brew group is trying to find the home position but I have disassembled and reassembled the brew group following the video instructions, and I can't find anything wrong. Is there some kind of sensor or magnet, because as far as I can see, there's nothing electrical that can give a "Home" signal for the brew group. Thanks Jeff
@yt.myworks2 жыл бұрын
@@jeffbonsall422 It only means that the brew group is not assembled correctly or screwed to the machine incorrectly. If the gears don't fit together properly then the machine will make loud noises. Before installing it, you should check by hand whether the brewing group can be moved easily and set it to the basic position.
@jeffbonsall4222 жыл бұрын
@myworks Thanks again for taking the time to reply to my problem. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help. I'm happy to donate to your PayPal account. I will give you more detail around the issue. I've removed the brew group and stripped it down and cleaned it. Everything turns and moves freely. The issue of the drive gear driving constantly was still there. I wound the brew group assembly to the bottom. The drive gear drove the brew group back to its home position perfectly, but it doesn't stop driving. I'd like to know what gives the signal that it's in its home position. All components are intact and in place. Your reassemble video perfectly details all the components to replace. Is there a datum point on the motor? I can't see anything on the brew group that would give a home position signal. Is there a reset on the machine. As soon as I press the power button, the brew group drives. I would hope there's a function where I can do a master reset. Thanks Jeff

Yes, there is a so-called "ENCODER" on the motor that tells the machine how far the brewing group should turn: www.juraprofi.de/Jura-Ersatzteile/Antrieb/Encoder-fuer-Jura-Kaffeevollautomaten::2653.html

Hi! For me, the beans get grinded but the coffee doesn't come out. I've tried descaling but didn't work. I think the grinded beans are stuck since no new beans get grinded or old beans come out. Do you know what could be causing this and how to fix it? Thanks!

Hello, you wrote that no coffee comes out, does clear water come out or nothing at all? Can you see the ground, dry coffee in the grounds container? And one last question; did you disassemble the grinder and reassemble it beforehand?

I only use distilled water in my Jura. Do you think decalcifying is necessary? I've still been doing it once per year.
@yt.myworks2 жыл бұрын
I think distilled water is good for the machine but less for your health. You can use normal tap water, the only important thing is that you decalcify the coffee machine or change the water filter when asked.

Its an excellent video about cleaning.....but I don't think you figured out why the machine has this fault....so the problem isn't solved, and will keep happening in the future. I have been testing mine over a few months and my hypothesis is that the grinder is accepting too many beans and making the pucks too big. The pump cannot push water through these large pucks and a breaker is engaged. Before doing all this disassembly, try starting from an empty hopper and adding only one level jura scoop of beans (limiting the amount it would normally accept). Many people are describing this fault as 'clogged', but it is not clogged at all....it is just underpowered by design?

My Jura Micro 90 keeps repeating "rinsing" and "press rotary" after starting. Can't find anything on the internet about how to fix. Any help? I find water in the tray after each rinse and the brew group is moving correctly.
@yt.myworks6 ай бұрын
Hello, I recommend taking a closer look at the flow meter (kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKTLonmDrcmpec0), perhaps it is dirty inside and therefore not rotating properly. This means the machine cannot detect whether the water is flowing properly.
@goyalmusic6 ай бұрын
@@yt.myworks I found the cause. The flow meter is working well, so is the pump. It somehow ran one cycle of descaling and milk cleaning. It worked okay, but water flow was choppy. I tried to run it to rinse whil having the brew group taken out. There is only little bit of water flowing to the brew group. It makes me think that the membrane regulator could be a problem, or the outlet valve could be at fault. I've ordered spares for those two, and will replace them in a few days. Am I thinking right? Should I also already replace the water pump?

When I saw you remove the metal clip on the outlet of your pump, I saw you have the exact same metal clamp and collar mine does I was so hopeful to see you remove it, but you didn't :( I cannot find anything to instruct me how to get that hose clamp off. It is insanely stiff and I have no idea how to get it off. Every video I can find on removing the membrane regulator shows a completely different connection than mine (and yours). Uggh!
@yt.myworks2 жыл бұрын
You will need to remove the inner sheet metal to release the clamp. This is best done with small pliers or a screwdriver. The assembly of the clamp is a bit difficult, so I recommend using an "oetiker" clamp afterwards. If the hose is already old then I recommend installing a new one.
