Jura ENA 4 Automatic Espresso Machine

Jura machines are incredible! I have a 5-year old ENA Micro 90 that I purchased as 'refurbished' and it's never given me any problems! (predecessor to the ENA 4). I like the upgrades incorporated onto the ENA 4.

Earlier this month (December 2022) we retired our 10-year-old Jura Micro 1 and replaced it with the Jura ENA 4. After about 15,000 coffees (mostly Americanos) the Micro 1 gave excellent service without regular descaling - we always used the Jura filter and fairly good tap water. I descaled 3 times in 10 years just for preventative maintenance. No other service was needed. The ENA 4 is an improvement on a great design given the new grinder, the easier to use side doser, and best of all, the side water tower. We now usually fill the easy-to-read tower in-place using a filtering pitcher from the fridge... so, double filtration of already decent tap water. Looking forward to another 18K + trouble free Americanos.

Good video. I subscribe to your channel. All we do at our house is espresso shots. What quality espresso shot does this make? That's really all I care about. I don't care that it's small. I just want a high quality espresso shot. Does this one make it any better or worse than any other brand? I really appreciate you helping thank you

Does idrinkcoffee recommend any brands of specialty coffee for the ENA 4?

We recommend Escarpment Coffee Roasters 😉, but it's best to get coffee that is freshly roasted and to avoid very oily coffees as super automatic machines like the ENA 4 don't work well with oily coffee.

I have the ENA4 and making 6 - 7 drinks a day ask me to change the filter every 3 weeks I think that’s too expensive. Happy with the coffee not happy with Jura forcing a subscription kind of a service using a proprietary filter with chip. Breville respects their clients greedy Jura on the other hand not so much
