Jura J8 Twin Espresso Machine Review

Was gonna buy this directly from Jura, but after stumbling on this review I changed my mind and bought it from Whole Latte Love. @@bendeco That is really expensive. They come at a much lower price in Europe and still they are among the most expensive ones. Siemens, Miele and Nivona being the only competitors in the same segment.

We have been saving up for a jura machine ever since we saw your video about a year ago. This twin grinder is a perfect fit our houshold. We will spring for the J8 soon for Christmas I think. Thank you for the detailed review and clarification of accessories and how to use them. You mentioned that you had to clean the system about once a month, but how often do you have to clean the milk system? I saw one video where they mention cleaning it every day after making milk based coffees.

Hey v, You are welcome for the review and thank you for the comment and question. Milk system cleaning is important. A daily cleaning with milk system cleaner is what the manufacturer recommends. That said, if I'm doing a few milk drinks and do the quick rinse within a few minutes I don't bother with a daily milk system deep cleaning. If I were to make a milk drink and the machine sat for a few hours i would do the deep milk system cycle with cleaner. Hope that helps! Marc

I’m from Germany. Got mine in April for 1,900 Euros. I love it but I am suprised how expensive they are in the US. Wish it had Cold Brew, too, but that is reserved for the even more expensive Giga 10.

Hi Marc. Thanks for doing this evaluation. I own a Profitech 600 machine and a Ceado 37SD grinder which I bought from WLL several months ago. I certainly do enjoy the espresso shots I make with the goodies I bought from you guys, but the desire to do more of the milk combos appeals to me. Can the Jura Twin make espresso shots as good as I am accustomed to with my own gear? Is there a better way to go if I need to? Cheers.

Hey les, thanks for the question and your patronage! Your semi-auto setup is capable of making better espresso than super-automatic machines. That said, machines like the Jura J8 Twin make very good espresso - in general it's better than what you'll get from the majority of chain coffee shops. Plus they are quick, convenient and consistent. If the convenience is not an important factor for you, your Pro 600 is capable of making all the milk drinks. You just need the frothing skills. What type of cleaner do your technicians use on the hypersonic cleaner when cleaning copper boilers and parts, when you rebuild machines. Im rebuilding my Expobar 4 rotary and I have a big ultrasonic cleaner. I was wondering can I just use descaler in the ultrasonic cleaner for the copper boilers, or is there anything better than regular descaler. Thanks and keep up the good work

Hi mm, You can try the ultrasonic cleaner with or without descaler. We do not use ultrasonic + descaler. Not sure if it changes effectiveness. Our techs use standard descalers they may use a slightly stronger mix as parts are removed from machine and closely monitored.
