diasetter I see. I don't seem to ever get lucky! I always end up with half a stone size left over after working around the circumference then have to keep using trial and error until they meet.

G Hughes You could divide exact the number of stones by using this formula: Diameter x 3.14 = length / size of stone you want to set...Ex: the circle = 25mm * 3.14 = 78.49mm / 1.3 (size of stone) = 60 stones. Always you need to find the lengh then divide the size of stone... hope it help

Calvin Le Thanks Calvin, I'll give that a try. In your calculation do you allow for any space between the finished set stones or the fact the the stones become slightly closer as they are set below the surface of a curve?

Bro what divider did you use to press dots in stainless steel like that the only scribe I can find that will mark stainless steel is tungsten carbide and it'll only scratch it it won't press dots in it I can only go back and forth

Beautiful, my thermolock always starts to melt and move when working on small pieces because of the heat when drilling.

Hey Jura! Thank you so much for sharing your work! I have a big question. I have the 071 carbide burs. Very good burs, but sometimes when i drill they jam and there is a kind of star. Not a nice round hole. What can i do to prevent this? The problem mainly occurs in soft metals (silver) best regards!

Hi Christian. sometimes it happens to me too. try slow speed. on my micromotor, i figured, 3000rpm is good for drill bits and ball burs and 5000rpm for tapered and cylinders.

Jura, is there any particular reason why you drill your holes between the marks you made with the dividers instead of on the marks?

diasetter I always figured it was just to use the marks as the starting point for the drill, or at least that is how I use it. I'm always looking for ways to improve, so I was certainly curious about your technique. :-)

Ronald Kundla this is one of my golden rules: never drill on the mark. don't remove your reference marks. since I'm not a machine i want to see them until the last second. unless you work with large gaps.
