The shooting script included a scene where Ben, immobilized in the trees and unable to get away, was attacked by a pack of Velociraptors. Eric had been able to detach himself from Ben and get away, and he filmed the Velociraptors with Ben's camera as they ran away from their carnage at the end of the scene. The size and manner of attack of the raptors in the movies explains why Ben's body has no legs when Grant's team finds him, as they were attacking the easy prey from the ground. Out of the many dinosaurs that appear in the Jurassic Park trilogy, Ben met his end at the claws of one of the usual suspects.

It wasn't Ellie that got the military to save Grant and the others, it was actually her husband. Her husband was mentioned to work for the state department, thus he had connections to the military, so Ellie asked him to send the military to the island

The part of Isla Sorna they are on is the opposite side of the island where The Lost World took place. I love how the male Raptors have the quills and brighter colours than the females to reflect they are more bird-like than reptillian in nature. They also act more like birds in this one.

It wasnt a good movie, it had a lot of problems that had to do with the mess the production was and the filming, that why there are scenes that dont make much sense because some times they were writting as they were filming and also the script they had was they took 2 or 3 scripts and mix them up... but no, I dont think it deserves hate its just that by the time it came out people had high expectations that werent meet so... yeah that can be disapointing. Also its a masterpiece next to the JW trilogy XD Anyway, if one enjoys the movie, thats all it matters even if the film is bad and the world hates it... whats important is what makes us feel.

Velociraptor was probably a pack hunter, which would have allowed it to attack prey much larger than itself. It also had a very large brain relative to its size - it was one of the smartest dinosaurs. It was very light and very fast, believed to be capable of sprinting at speeds of 40 miles per hour. What was the most intelligent dinosaur? Smartest dinosaur ever - AZ Animals Troodon is believed to be the smartest dinosaur ever, with an EQ of 5.8. This small coelurosaurian dinosaur (similar evolutionary group to modern birds) had a huge brain, especially considering its size, making it the smartest among dinosaurs. How much IQ does a Velociraptor have? Did you know that the Velociraptor has an I.Q. of 0.20 wh... The Velociraptor has an I.Q. of 0.20 which is about the same as an Ostrich. The Velociraptor depended on their speed to hunt. Velociraptors ate anything from small sized lizards to medium sized hadrosaurids (duckbills). Velociraptors had hollow boned like modern day birds.

My only real issue with JP 3 is that they completely got rid of the deeper commentary of the series. Jurassic Park isn't about the Dinosaurs, it's about Nature and Humanities need to control it and the flawed belief that they actually can, our over-reliance on computers and technology, and the dangers of science been allowed to proceed unchecked for the sake of "progress". Even TLW for all it's faults, managed to keep elements of at least the nature side of it, with Hammond's realization that he couldn't control it, and that people need to just step away and allow nature to takes it course with the Dinosaurs. JP3 had none of that, and while I still enjoy the movie and in many ways agree that it's better than TLW, I can't deny that as someone who's favourite movie of all time is the original JP and who's two favorite scenes in that movie are the group sat having dinner discussing the ethics of the park, and Hammond and Ellie eating icecream while talking about the illusion of control that Hammond had, it was disappointing to see that element of the series completely gone.

I'm low key annoyed with the lack of empathy so many reactors have towards Amanda and Paul Kirby. They are not experts. They are not trained soldiers or trained anything physical focused. They dont know dino's. They dont know survival. What they do know is that their son is trapped on death island, and they want to save him. They know no official resque parties are going to be send. I dont agree with kidnapping in the slightest, but that seems to be one thing reactors are not even that angry about. They seem mostly angry at them doing stupid things, or calling their kids name. They are parents looking for their missing boy. Of course they want to call out his name. How else can he find them in the middle of a jungle like area? Yeah dino's are more likely to find you as well, but it's easy to judge from your safe space on the chair in your home and it doesnt concern your own child or loved one. If the one you loved the very most in the whole world was trapped on that island, and you went there to look for them, what are the odds of you behaving like a rational calm quiet collected individual who never calls out their loved ones name in hopes of finding them faster if at all? Amanda and Paul Kirby are not competend capable experts. Thats rather the point. They are your average boring people living boring lives until their son goes missing and despite not being suited for a dino island in the slighest, they still go, they break laws, and they overcome their own divorce situation for the sake of their son. Thats A+ parenting. They are amazing parents. And I get so annoyed when people show no understanding for a mother and father in desperate search for their child. Or being so hard on them for not being professionals. I get being pissed at characters that are supposed to be smart/professional and competent and THEN acting very stupid. But these people are not any supposed to be any of these things. Ans they risk their necks anyway, and grow as people in the process. With Paul keeping it together facing a spino and Amanda a velociraptor alpha. These characters deserve more respect from the audience.

If you want a series, the Jurassic World movies aren’t horrid. The velociraptors play a big part… costars almost. CGI had reached a point where just having lumbering dinosaurs was passé. Same plot lines: money hungry promoters putting the public in peril. And, not exactly dinosaurs, but the latest (2014 thru 2021) Godzilla/Kong series is enjoyable. The first two Godzilla films are on the dark side, literally too dark to see most of the action, but provide background character development. The last two are fun: Godzilla vs. Kong, and Kong: Skull Island. Have watched those multiple times. 🤔 K:SI should be watched before GvK.

This was my favorite of the original trilogy, as I read the books before seeing part 1 & 2, and the first movie while good, fell short in regards to the book for me. As for part 2, I almost walked out of that one, as I've never done that before, but that movie really tempted me. Since part 3 was an original work and not based on a book, it didn't have anything to live up to for me, so I could just enjoy as is, and I did, very much as a matter of fact.

Fun fact that wasn't in the trivia: The Spinosaurus Vs. Tyrannosaurus fight originally contained more practical shots instead of being fully CGI like it is in the final movie. However, the Spinosaurus animatronic was so strong that during filming it decapitated the Tyrannosaurus animatronic. Thus the only shots of the Tyrannosaurus that are practical is when the gang runs into it feeding and when it is laying dead on the floor after the fight.

This movie gets a lot of undeserved hate, and some deserved. It was the first one where the dinosaurs stopped acting like animals, specifically the Spinosaurus. It also marks the start of some extremely annoying T. rex related decisions, which I won't go into detail with so I don't spoil future movies. And Tea Leoni's character was beyond annoying with her constant screaming. Overall, it's a fun movie, but it feels like one of those low budget late 90s and early 2000s CGI creature features.

This was literally the first disappointment of the movie, that Allan and the Lady were not a couple. More disappointments were to follow. The ridiculous talking Raptor was already next. The annoying woman who trusts her boyfriend so much that she gives him her son, but she doesn't give a shit that he died. And she behaves stupidly the whole movie. Dinosaurs are portrayed here for the first time as pure murderers. There was even a mercy kill, wtf. But I didn't think the movie itself was bad.

Not many liked this film when it came out, but it's surprising how good this movie became once the J World movies came out and showed how terrible a Jurassic movie can actually be. They made this without a script as well. All they had was a handful of written scenes involving dinosaur action because those needed to be choreographed and logistically planned.... but the rest of the movie involving humans in the jungle, was just done on the day with scripts written literally minutes before so they could tie the dino-scenes together. This is why they shoehorned that ending with the army turning up on the beach. They had absolutely no idea or planning on how to end the film. That ending was taken from the original novel and was a convenient scene to use. Even the actors had absolutely no idea what they were doing until the morning of the shoot. Tea Leoni in interviews constantly refers to "animal-tronics" because the production was so ham-handed that nobody was prepped beforehand. The rushed production also meant that the CGI dinosaurs change colour, size and shape between scenes, and don't match the practical versions either. As per watching the JW movies... give them a go, but be warned. JW: Best bits of the original trilogy, crammed into one movie. Basically a remake. Kinda like Force Awakens. JW2: A remake of JP2. JW3: Overly long bloated childrens' movie designed to appeal to the masses but comes off as a series of unconnected, messy action scenes.

A prime example of why you shouldn't put too much stock in KZbin comments. See also, the unavoidable slew of comments warning that this or that _Jurassic World_ film and any _Terminator_ sequel after 2 is bad and not worth watching. Nothing beats going in with an open mind and coming up with your own appreciation for a film.

Little did you know that you were right on the money when you talked about returning the eggs to the velociraptors. They did just as you suggested, put the eggs down and just let them take the eggs. It was that simple.

during the year 2000 I was in college and spent much time learning about this movie and excitedly waiting for it to release. I graduated end of that year and got a job, June of 2001 a tornado hit my town and partially damaged the local theater, people were watching Tomb Raider and thought the sounds outside were part of the sound effects and no one knew a tornado had hit till they left the building and saw the destruction everywhere. The theater got shut down for repairs and re opened the same weekend Jurassic Park 3 released but they only had one room functioning at that time and decided to celebrate the grand reopening by playing Planet of the Apes instead, so I had to wait a couple weeks till they added JP3 to the rotation. (fyi its a small theater, has only 4 rooms)

I loved this movie when it came out, still do, but I understand the criticism, there isn't much plot, First movie, Don't play god, second movie, Darwin be damned, this movie, everyone is lunch, oh and something about not steeling dinosaur eggs. The reason this movie doesn't have much of a plot is cause they threw out the script multiple times during filming and the director admits he had no idea what he wanted to have happen. One of the plots they were going to use till the last minute was Grant was already on the island having set up an observation outpost and was studying the dinosaurs with Billy and some other apprentices. I can not say if that would have been better or not.

The Spinosaurus is one of the main reasons why this film gets a lot of hate. They made it the main villain of this film because around this time, Spinosaurus was a very poorly known dinosaur (the only major fossil specimen that had ever been found was accidentally destroyed by a daylight bombing raid in World War 2). Now bringing a poorly known (in terms of popularity and/or scientific research) dinosaur into the spotlight can either go really well, or it can backfire. In the case of this film, it ended up backfiring, especially since continued paleontological research has shown that the real animal had nearly nothing in common with its on-screen counterpart. The real Spinosaurus was a dinosaur that spent most of its life in the water and was primarily optimized for hunting and eating fish (also, even though they never met, the real winner of a fight between T-Rex and Spinosaurus would have been T-Rex). In response to all the new paleontological discoveries/research/evidence done since the film came out, the franchise’s writers have had to go back and completely retcon the Spinosaurus’s origin story in the lore. Officially known as Asset 87, it is now a dinosaur that had it and its DNA intensely experimented on and mutated by InGen and Dr. Wu to the point where the final result only barely resembles the actual creature. As a result of all this experimentation (up to and including torture), the Spinosaurus developed a severe grudge against humans, and now it tries to kill them every chance it gets, especially if they hurt it first. And that’s why it was so obsessed with killing the humans in this film: the plane’s propeller(s) injured its sail and it wanted payback (on a side note, despite all the research done on Spinosaurus, we’re still not quite sure what the exact function of that sail was in real life).
