I was born in 82 so I was 11 when jurassic park went to theaters. I remember vividly seeing it multiple times. The second time I told my mom I wanted her to go see it with me and I talked it up to her lol. So she took me to see it the second weekend and when rexy first breaks out , I heard her yelp then she stood up and leaned over and told me she'd be right back she had to go to the bathroom cause she was so scared she peed herself lol. Now that all I have left are memories of her , jurassic park will always be a funny one that makes me smile . It was truly an amazing experience to see in a theater on opening weekend. It will stay with me forever

The most underrated part of the movie is the art design elements of the park. Obviously the design of both the vehicles are iconic. But the few glimpses we get of the gift shop show that even the fake merch they designed for the park is top tier.

Dennis Nedry's nervous lying is the most realistic portrayal of a nervous lie I've ever seen. The quick way he talks, fumbles his words and repeats his words is so naturalistic and sounds exactly like a person trying to repeat rehearsed lies.

Also Hammond is a much darker character than you realise, he is a bad guy really. I will discuss below: - He outright refuses, "that is absolutely out of the question," to use the lysine contingency, even though his grandkids are in the park and many people have died. He does not want to destroy his product even at this point. - He is presented a God, in all white, but his ignorance is constantly highlighted. "I like you, both of you, I can tell instantly about people, it's a gift." He views himself as all powerful and all knowing. Giving life, "being here for the birth of every little creature on this island." His megalomania is evident in lots of little ways during the film. - Wants to put his investors at ease so lures his OWN GRANDKIDS to the park to take part, in order to show how the "target audience" will react. He also has a very telling beat when the tour starts, re-watch it, he knows it's not safe, propped up by Mr Arnold's, "coulda been worse John... coulda been a lot worse." - He is an absolute symbol of corporate greed. To everyone who will listen he, "Spared no expense," but the irony is actually in reality he is cutting corners at every turn. It is his lack of safeguarding, and wages that leads to the downfall of the whole park. - When he encourages Arnold to shut down the system, he doesn't speak from the heart, he parrots the exact line Satler just said to him, "People are dying," and yet when he has what he wants, just a few minutes later he is reiterating to Malcolm that it's just some hiccups, "When Pirates of the Caribbean opened, nothing worked." - And of course, he doesn't actually tell anyone else why they are there, either. And if you include JP Lost World: He manipulates Julianne Moore into going, knowing it will lead to Ian going back into a trauma riddled experience, and once successful he happily counts them off as numbers on his fingers. If anyone actually reads this: cheers.

Hammond was THE bad guy in the novel. He courted Henry Wu out of college and Wu had ethical concerns about what they were doing. He wasn't the sci-fi villain he was portrayed as in the later movies. They cleverly made Wu the bad guy bec Hammond had been written as the bright eyed optimist in the movies seeking only to bring a sense of wonder to the masses.
@Thecatdrums33 жыл бұрын
Same thing happens with gremlins 2. It’s obvious now to see how they wanted a Donald trump caricature like Batman returns had as their villain but the actors hired had to much charisma for that type of portrayal. It’s easy to forget how popular he was even than and the numerous films & media made about how much of a villain people like that are. “Business men” stereotypes is exactly what they all turn out to be in both fiction and real life. Would be interesting if they went with the more business man idea like in the lost world but the wide eyed Walt Disney type final product suits it to a t.

I really hope you guys cover the rest of the films and even the Telltale game because this is such a treat.
