Jurassic Park Velociraptor Review

For this episode I'll be looking at the series 1 Velociraptor and all of its variants.

1993 summer was my favorite summer of all time... i watched the movie during hot summer in an outdoor cinema (with a real storm preparing lol) .... and it was really special to go to the store to see the figures for the 1st time. They were mysterious in their great boxes... JP really are in my favorite figures of all time with WWF, TMNT and Ghostbusters.

Just ordered the Jurassic Park Dinosaurs version of this Raptor really exited to get my hands on it and it will be my first Retro Jurassic Park Dinosaur.

This is my favorite velociraptor toy from a major toy company. I just wish they designed the head better…

The catalog featuring the deinonychus also features the rarer versions of the pachy and raptor. Yet another piece of evidence that points to them being the early production copies. (Edit: I found even more evidence, if you check the back of the boxes of those 2 figures they also showcase the rarer versions. Remember, those dioramas on the back are notorious for using early samples).

Funny story. I bought this figure, it took forever to ship, and by the time I got it, I immediately had to pack it up in my box because of hurricane Dorian. At the time, I thought Jacksonville was gonna take a direct hit from a cat 5, so I quickly got packing. Days pass, and here we are, Dorian is above me right now as a Cat 1 off the coast, I open my box and realize for the first time that it actually ISNT the original JPS1 Velociraptor, but the Lost World version. Im happy with it either way, but Im kinda shocked I didnt notice sooner.

The Lost World version is still great, actually think I prefer the darker red color more than the brown found on the original. Plus that was my first version of it, Im very fond of that figure even though my first one is missing the toenails.

I don't know why, but I think that among the series 1 raptors, their teeth seem to be painted in a sometimes more more whitish tone, whilst others seem to have kind of more greenish colored teeth. I know, it might just be some lack of quality in production or something, but I still always find it interesting to find such minor differences on toys. Would you mind maybe taking a quick look on a few of you specimens? 'cause I'm wondering, if anyonen else has this occuring on their figures. Thanks for reading.

I had lots of these raptors, at least four. One was the lost world red one. So j had my own pack. They fought over prey or were eaten by the red rex.

Yeah, in fact the 'Chaos Effect' Velociraptor've my favorite paint job between all the 'JP/JW' toy lines, along the 'CamoXtreme' Canyon T-rex. The colors on both pieces are great for me... but I have to find them, I just've the original releases (the brown Velociraptor from Series 1, and the Ultra Tyrannosaurus rex "Re-ak-A-tak" from the 'JP3' line). Awesome review, keep going with them, man!! 😉👌

Thank you :) And yeah I think the Chaos Effect raptor paint job is among my favorites, would be awesome if Mattel could do a similar paint job on a new figure like they did with the Series 2 inspired Gallimimus.

ah damn my idiot self saw that green eyed lost world raptor for only like 15 dollars and thought someone just stuck the 93/94 head and neck onto a 97 raptor since it has the same markings as the original version and not the 97 one
