It's my personal favorite. Second best in the franchise for me, obviously behind the OG. There's just something about this movie that feels so "Jurassic" even when they get to San Diego. Even with it's little flaws, it gives us some of the best suspense and action of the whole series. And IMO the rex scene in TLW is better than the Rexy breakout. Breakout is more iconic, but the tension followed with Eddie's death is just untouchable filmmaking.

Anyone who has ever read the books understands the underlying theme with Jurrassic Park which is control. Control is a common theme with Michael Chritons work including West World. The movie should focus on unpredictability, for example no one could predict a disgruntled software engineer sabotaging the park from the inside. Or like in Westworld the AI robots would develop conciousness and take over the park.

There's actually a Allosaurus fossil where it had clearly been killed by a stego tail spike. I'm sorry, my dude... Pterodactyl isn't a dinosaur. They are reptiles. There's a bunch of critters that we think of as dinosaurs, but aren't. Dimetrodon is more closely related to mammels and lived like... Tens of millions of years before the Dinosaurs.

It makes me so sad to see even folks like these two guys completely misunderstand that the point of the story was never about dinosaurs, it was *always* about cloning and the ethics surrounding the tech, and about the ethics of emerging tech (and the accompanying “gold rush”) in general. Dinosaurs were always just the dramatic vehicle to allow for the conversation. Obviously none of the movies since the original have really understood that fundamental principle of the story either. The human clone in Fallen Kingdom is the only thing in any of the new movies that is actually in line with the whole reason Crichton wrote the original books in the first place. I say that as someone who has been obsessed with dinosaurs for nearly 40 years. They were never the point, and until the movies really start to understand that, they’re never going to rise above popcorn fare the way the original did.

To ties it back to his film making in Godzilla. Hopefully he learned to take some aspect as inspiration from Godzilla minus and the minus one director takashi yamazaki especially giving a good human story and incorporated into his jurassic park film he plans to do. When Gareth Edwards saw godzilla minus one. It made him realised that was how a godzilla movie should be made. It made him jealous too. Yes jurassic park and godzilla are different franchises. However takashi yamazaki’s godzilla minus one showed Gareth edwards as an example of how to give a good balanced between showing creature sequences and human elements of story telling for this upcoming Jurassic park movie.

Seeing Jurassic Park in theaters when it first came out just blew me away! I went back and watched it so many times. Eveytime somebody I knew said they haven’t seen it I would drag them to the movies. I liked Jurassic World ok but I didn’t like Fallen Kingdom and I HATED Dominion. I was excited for the original stars to come back and was so mad at how they wasted the opportunity. It was a mess of a movie and so dumb and generic. I’m hoping they go back and try to recapture that magic from the original and really try to make something good with the new one. 🤞

My favorite part of the first Jurassic World is its metaphors for animal captivity and zoos. I have to ask tho Chris Pratt as Indy would have been dope immensely better than Dial of Destiny curious to hear peoples thoughts on this after Dial of Destiny bombed and the franchise is in limbo. Definitely took a tonal shift with JW when Trevorrorroroerow took over. The underlying themes are still there but the modernized idea of having a park with dinosaurs in 2015 is definitely gonna look like what we got in the movie. People getting bored of seeing the same thing so we have to tinker with it and fuck it all up again.

10:40 this wasn't just a bad choice to include this unnecessary scene for that character. It made 3 of the main Characters unlikable because it felt as if they were responsible for it. The children especially as they made this woman's already stressful life more stressful and the auntie who gave her a job she clearly wasn't ready or qualified for let alone during a dinosaur killing spree. And the auntie gets her realization moment but never really concerns herself with the loss of that assistant. The movie was very average but with that scene it was bad as it was hard to celebrate the main characters success.
