Zico is another superior underground rapper then go surface, 1 generation prior to BTS. Commercial debuted as Block B, Main Rapper, now Solo and boss of his own production house and some high qualified artists under his flag. (Now a subsidiary of Hybe music). The live Rapper's duo of Gen2 Block B vs Gen3 BTS is still considered an epic live music award performance today

During that performance Tough Cookie really turned me on to Zico. And yes, he and RM knew each other in the underground scene.

1 generation before BTS is a bit too much, no?! They're contemporaries, just went different ways. Also still friends I believe. 🤷‍♀️ 💜

@@Sherluck93 my mistake, I am referring kpop generation, Block B is Gen2 and BTS is Gen3....usually around 3-4yrs between generations. TXT is gen4, now arguing new groups debuted late 2023 and after are gen5

@@ejentabi It's okay. Lots of arguments, no consensus. We'll know in hindsight how it went. But I don't see BlockB as straight up seniors to BTS. I don't think the generational difference is big enough. Maybe end of Gen 2, going into Gen 3, a mix of it all, transition? And they just did it differently? 💜

To give you more context about Tablo and Korean entertainment. If you think that K-pop fans in the you tube comments or twitter are toxic, they are nothing in comparison to Korean netzines and media. They can totally end your career, or may lead you to take your own life, what sadly happened many times. Before Epik High, Tablo had graduated from Stanford University in 3,5 years, with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in English. Antis accused him of lying about his education. It was easy to deny it, but rumors only grew more. Epik High was very popular at that time, but this almost destroyed them, because people wouldn't believe him. They even made a whole documentary and interviewed Stanford professors, but some people just preferred to listen to the initial accusations of antis on the internet 😭 It's a very short sum up and doesn't reflect all the hell that Tablo went through. CL is a really good Rapper who wrote most music for 2NE1 while she was still the leader. Career destroyed by her old house YG, wasting her at least 2yrs to finally release her solo album in different label, the momentum never be the same

There is a saying that Epik High feature all the best Korean female artists 😄 It is worth checking out all the people that they feature. I love CL and I hope that rumors about 2ne1 coming back as a group will come true. I would recommend CL's Hello Bitches, Lover Like Me, HWA and Lifted (you will find someone familiar in the MV 😁). If you still have time for Epik High I recommend Born Hater ☺ btw Lately there is a big volume difference between you speaking and MVs in your reactions

Hello Bitches was the wrong move. Total YG P contest. 2NE1 is gone. CL tried to save them as much as she could. It's tragic. I wish they could do something again! She's lovely, talented and loyal. 💜 And I'm sure she has plenty to say!

Melon is an end of year award show and a music platform in Korea. Zico dominated with "Any Song" and started the tik tok trend that is now required for idols to do when they have "combacks" (drop new music)

I SAW ROSARIO and had to see you intro to CL! She’s always a fierce one and NEVER disappoints. Love her! 😂🎉 Cherry Nation rise! 🍒🌸🤣🙌🏽 Also, love the line about “paving the way for those who are paving way” 💜🔥 EH also went thru hellfire from kmedia (similar to BTS & TigerJK) in regards to struggling for “legitimacy” in the eyes of “k netizens”. So ridiculous the lengths to which the controversy went. There’s some great podcasts which Tablo reveals the hard truths and backstories about this, if you really wanna dive into these topics. It’s absolutely NUTS. But yeah, this song is def hard hitting clapback for that reason.

i think i asked you to listen to CL's Let It (my personal fave) but all of Alpha is pretty fire. 2NE1 was my intro to kpop in 2011 with I'm the Best, which you may have actually heard over the years.

Melon is online music service, app to stream music too, also korean charts that determinate later in award show who is nomitated for awardvand wins them.... "MMA" award show - it is "Melon music award", for sure you had comments that people were like "watch MMA performance " and it is part if Melon... So when he had in lyrics he showed at Melon, it us about award shiw, and he showed there bc he had reson. Zico is long time in the game... He got into industry early and made a name fir himself even before beging a part of band Block B. He and RM were good friends, from what I understand they were in the same circle in underground rape scene... And they had similar problems begin in idol industry, bc Zico decision to be in Block B, was also him getting label as Idol, bc what Zico said in this verse is about fact that he was called faje and greedy and that he is doing hip hop inly for money that he is imposter and nor the rapper, so he said tgat there were talk but he still showed at Melon, I don't know wich year he mran bur he won one year artust if the year, one year he won best hip hop act, he won awarts fir songs and collabs, like this verse comes to this. Table is genius, not i only musical, but literally, his inteligence ahh, great songwriter, he us actually very close to Suga, but also friends with RM. But he is person that Suga confide in. I don't know if BTS would exist if Epik high wasen't there... I rrally like this song it is great, and CL fits idealy. I know who CL is and some if her history in industry but I never listened to her music or her band, but I know people have great opinion.
