A tie, Yvonne! Is that a choice? My pick was both, but Menne seemed to arc his front legs higher. Also, I think the fellows running with the stallions have a lot to do with how the inspection comes out. Jurre was amazing. It's like picking if you love your mother or father more. Too hard of a choice! These stallions have the best conformation because their breed is Friesian. One difference was Menne's having more feathering on his hooves. Wow! Can't get over how magnificent these creatures of the universe are.

The breeding of friesians is highly regulated. The process for approving a stallion to be a stud is a long and rigorous process. Don't worry about learning it all but just watch videos on this channel. Yvonne has videos on inspections, training and breeding which includes how she chooses a stud for the mares. Even watching the foals you can see how natural they carry their heads and how natural that floating trot is.

These shows are not really my thing although the horses are gorgeous. They are my only chance to see the stallions I have heard about. I guess I just find all the trappings of the show too distracting. But I understand how these shows are necessary to keep this wonderful breed viable.

I did not like when the handler slapped Jurre in the face when rounding the corner. Anybody touch my horse like that he would have his face slapped by me right before I fired him.

Kate D . I actually think he had to make a quick dicision because Jurre was about to run out in front of him. They run extremely fast and it can quickly go very wrong, if a big stallion like that doesn’t do what he is supposed to. Also he is a stallion and he didn’t look a bit upset about being corrected. I wouldn’t judge just from a video, without knowing the horse, him or the situation!

I don't understand why these young men handle horses the way they do. For instance -why hold the horses head down so far. If the horse is uncomfortable and he's frustrated, he won't show well. And when they run them around, why keep the horse neck bent so their head is in front of his handler. He can't see where he's going. It continually looks like the horse will get entangled in the young mans legs.
