There’s a lot of meaning behind this song & video. I can try to tell you what I’ve read about it. At the beginning, Jin stares at a painting, and on each side of the painting is a door ~ one white (good), and one black (evil). The song lyrics speak about how you know something is bad but you do it anyway, like losing your innocence as you get older. V is the fallen Angel (who lost his wings ~ note the scars on his back), and Jin kissing the statue is Jin giving into temptation like we all do at some point in our lives. V’s black wings are now on the statue. The dinner scene at the table is, I believe, a representation of The Last Supper. Also at one point, I think it’s Suga sitting on the floor in a room and an apple is in front of him (Adam & Eve reference). There is a quote ~ it might be above the painting ~ that is significant, but I don’t recall the meaning at this moment. At the end, you see things like Jimin taking off a blindfold, and Jin’s face cracks ~ I think these all are signs that they have also given in to temptations. - The book is Demian by Herman Hesse. (look at my own lenghty comment 😄) - The quote on the wall is: "You must have chaos within you to give birth to a dancing star." - Jin's cracked face is from the book: "The bird fights its way out of the egg. The egg is the world. Who would be born must first destroy a world." In other words he has entered a new world/reality/stage in life.

A few of MANY details in BS&T: - The first painting is "The fall of the rebel angels" by Bruegel - V jumps into the painting "The fall of Icarus" also by Bruegel - Suga is playing Buxtehude Passacaglia which is played in the book Demian by Herman Hesse on which the mv is based - RM's quote is also from Demian - The statue with wings is the god Abraxus who symbolises the conflict of light/shadow, good/evil, truth/lies etc. (The Wings era includes the solo songs Shadow, Boy Meets Evil and Lie) - The mv includes concepts from both Freud, Jung, Nietzche and the book Map Of The Soul (sounds familiar? 😏) by Dr. Murray Stein And so on and so on... This was the song when JHope became one of my bias wreckers i mean just look at the way he dances letting the emotion take him over and also his legs omg they are long. Also this song has alot of hidden messages in the MV as it took me hundred times watching it to get them and I still find something new or I missed when ever I watch this MV. Thank you for reacting to BST. This is the second song that màde me fall for BTS. I use this in my Literary Symbolism and Imagery Analysis Class. Bust my students' heads open. I love their cinematography for it. The meaning of this song is great. The German words above the black mirror by Jin really made an impact on me. And this is where Jimin seriously pushed Yoongi off my bias chair. 💜 This is about losing your innocence, giving in to temptation, embracing the darkness within you as a passage to growing or dealing with your demons. The painting of the fallen angels and of Icarus kind of explains it all.

This MV is all about jin choosing whether or not he will except the bad side of him along with the good and accept it. Letting the chaos in him break out (like the statues and exploding colors). This whole MV is based on a novel Demian. You need to read the book in order to understand the MV. But if you want a short summary to it there's an explanation video for Blood, Sweat and Tears.

I think you both got parts of it in a roundabout way...there is an explanation vid if you're interested, and it is very deep. Watch one if the Blood, Sweat and Tears explanation videos. The video itself has alot of important imagery in each scene. It's actually based in part from the themes in "Demian" a book by Hermann Hesse. ** Emil Sinclair is a young boy raised in a middle-class home, amidst what is described as a Scheinwelt, a play on words meaning "world of light" as well as "world of illusion". Sinclair's entire existence can be summarized as a struggle between two worlds: the show world of illusion and the real world, the world of spiritual truth. Accompanied and prompted by his mysterious classmate and friend 'Max Demian', he detaches from and revolts against the superficial ideals of the world of appearances and eventually awakens into a realization of self. The music video is about how evil tempts the boys to choose the wrong path by making them believe that they, for example, will feel relieved. There is so much more out there to discover, especially in regards to their story timeline (Xceleste has the best video description of the BTS Storyline!!) that runs throughout their videos!!

ARMY, let's give our guys little help. The WINGS era is based on the book Demian by Hernan Hesse that explains the pshyche of Sinclair ( the narrator who is loosing his innocence as growing up, becoming an adult). As he grows up he discovers the 2 sides of the world: the light and the dark. If you will watch again the video you will see, that behind the boys, in the museum, there are 2 statues: one is white, one is black. I won't go in details very much because there are a lot of things to say, but , to put it shortly, this is about falling into temptation. When RM said in the video: " He, too, was a tempter. He too was a LINK to the second ( meaning- the SECOND WORLD) The EVIL world with which I NO LONGER WANTED to have anything to do." And the story line of BTS continues... But to fully understand the story that they are telling, you must watch the videos one by one, in the order! and put it together piece by piece :) The next video after Blood ,Sweat and Tears is Boy Meets Evil- the solo of J-Hope.
