Great job Brady and Omar! Loved the film. Omar, way to overcome the misses and bounce back to kill a beautiful bear! That takes a ton of mental strength and you did it! Folks will learn a lot from this one.👍🏻

I loved this video. Thank you for sharing. QQ: What was the Wind direction monitoring device that you used, and what is the GPS item on your chest that you use. I am planning my first deep back country hunt this fall 2024 and I am looking for quality, safety devices that the more mature, professional hunters use. Thank you again for everything! Keep the videos coming. They are educational and fun, and also show you the ups and downs of why we call it hunting and not killing, LOL. Sometimes you win and sometimes we miss.
@GOHUNT7 ай бұрын
Really glad you enjoyed the film!! The wind direction device Brady is using is a Kestrel 5700 Elite. It also doubles as a ballistics calculator. You can see it here: shop.gohunt.com/products/kestrel-5700-elite-meter-with-applied-ballistics-and-link There are some other options for far cheaper by Kestrel if you just want to use a wind device. A simple version is the Kestrel 2700: shop.gohunt.com/collections/kestrel/products/kestrel-2700-ballistics-weather-meter And the satellite messenger Brady wears on his chest is an Inreach Mini 2. It's an amazing backcountry piece of mind device on hunts when you don't have cell service and it syncs with your phone to make sending messages a breeze (and you could message from the device as well). You can see that product here: shop.gohunt.com/products/garmin-inreach-mini-2 We are so glad you're enjoying all the content and this film! Thanks for watching and feel free to reach out to us anytime about gear for your hunt.

@GOHUNT7 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! It probably isn't our best film in terms of quality as the guys just decided to self film it, and thus were not using something with some better audio. But we do have a little better self film setup now, and their 2024 bear hunt film that we haven't released yet should be better audio as they recorded on the new system.

Awesome hunt boys!! Well done! I noticed on Omar's bear that the thermals were rising and you could see the pine branches fluttering upward. It's very common for the thermals to be rising up those canyons and cause shots to be high miss. Brady you judged that wind perfect on your bear! Fantastic marksmanship pal! Great film. I would have liked to see footage of you guys crossing and recovering both bears tho!

It was so sketchy in person! Way more gnarly than it looks, I stopped filming it since I thought Omar was going to fall off lol. Great video!! So much adventure packed into a few days. Brady, do you ever wish you had the double pull instead of the single pull out hunting? At least I think you have the single pull in the video. I’m debating which would be best
@GOHUNT7 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. Appreciate it! And by the way, this is Brady responding back to you. In all honesty, in all the hunts I've been on with that MDT Ckye-Pod single pull, I can't ever recall a situation where I wished I had the double pull. Maybe on my moose hunt so I wouldn't have had to shoot off a backpack. But truly I think for everything hunt wise, the single pull works really for me. Now, if my rifle was a little lighter, then maybe I would toss on the added weight of the double pull. I also have the full acra rail on the bottom, and I'm comfortable shooting off a tripod if needed. You won't go wrong with either option when it comes to a bipod for hunting.

Brady and Omar, what are you using to charge your phones? Well done on the hunt.
@GOHUNT7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed the film. Brady uses an Anker 21W 2-Port Foldable Solar Panel and two Anker Nano 30W Power Bank 10,000mAh. That setup works very well for him on hunts.

Who needs a pack raft!! Full send guys and great video. Brady how did you like the terminus? With most packs having external frames now how does it compare being an internal frame pack?
@CamDee137 ай бұрын
Yep! I have always said being short is best for hunting, easier to conceal urself, easier to stalk, being super tall is not advantageous in hunting imo and Brady not being able to cross the river on that deadfall proves that

Beauty of a cinnamon color phase bear. Curious if there was any meat loss from waiting to recover the bear the next day? No hate here at all, just curios. I’ve always thought bears hold in more heat than other game which could make it risky for spoilage? Also, was curious what stove/pipe setup you were running with peax tipi? Thanks and nice job on well earned notched tags 👍🏻
@GOHUNT7 ай бұрын
Honestly a great question. This is Brady responding back to you. I was a little worried about the same thought while I was on the hunt, but there was actually no meat spoilage on either bear and we were able to recover all the meat and nothing was spoiled. And over the past year I've already eaten up this entire bear. I love bear meat!! The extra part that made it a little easier for me to make that call to leave them overnight was the relatively mild daily temperatures, and the nightly temperatures, and the fact that both bears were near a creek. Omar's bear had a side creek it was near, and my bear was near a river. With the Peax shelter, I was using a medium Seek Outside U-turn stove with a 7.5 foot long stove pipe. Thanks for watching and appreciate the support on the video.

What scopes were you guys using!? Looking to purchase a new one soon and want some feedback of what you guys like and dislike.
@GOHUNT7 ай бұрын
Brady was using a Vortex Razor Gen 3 6-36x56 FFP MOA riflescope and Omar was using the Vortex Viper PST Gen II 5-25x50 FFP MOA riflescope. Both of those rifles are Brady's and he is a big fan of those scope and has taken them on some crazy hunts and they hold up every single time. So no hesitation right now on at all on using those scopes for any rifle system. The nice part about today, there's so many great riflescope choices out there, and companies are making great scopes. If you have any questions, give our shop a call at (702) 847-8747 and ask to talk to Cody Nelson our optics guy. He'd be happy to help.
