Very interesting Kev, we learn something every day. Nice to see the roads are clear of snow so you can get out on that lovely bike of yours.

Being a skier and boarder I did know you had ski resorts in Australia, a few professional guys from here used to go there to train in the summer months. I was surprised to hear it had the oldest ski club though. I do like snow scapes gives a place such a clean look. Most folk when they think of Australia imagine all year round sun and surf. I for one need seasons.

The good thing about where I live is I get all the seasons (sometimes in the same day). I used to ski and limited time boarding until I got a little overweight and old. I do love the cooler climate where I live. Thanks for watching. RSM8

Great look over the area :) When we lived in the Northern tablelands we often got a light sprinkling of snow, nothing like that. I've heard it's nice down that way in the summer as well.

Interesting that it snowed in all your states. Coldest temperature ever recorded in Canada was -63c in Snag Yukon. As I get older, I find it harder to deal with very cold winters. Ride safe mate.

You are right when you say more snow than Switzerland, but it is more snow by area. I doubt the snow by volume would be greater.

The slopes on the roofs on the houses look unusual - are they designed that way to shed snow?
@02bigkev

Yes, if there were gutters the snow would rip them off. Sometimes over a foot of snow on the roofs.

Do you remember an Aussie couple got trapped by an avalanche in Thredbo where 18 people died? A man and his wife were trapped but his wife didn't survive :( it was one of the saddest news in the snowy mountains. The Rescuers were a bunch of chicken shit disgraceful scums that didn't rescue them for days. His wife would have survived if those scums weren't so scared of dying - i was so frustrated watching the news ! If that happened in other countries his wife would have survived.

....how do they keep the roads clear...do they use the dreaded SALT over there too?! My front brakes seized due to not thoroughly washing the salty gunk off....but I thought there might be something different used over there...like blokes with shovels, or snow blowers...?!
@02bigkev
@02bigkev 8 жыл бұрын
We have snow blowers, shovels and the roads are cleared with a truck and a blade, it pushes it to the side. we do use salt and grit on some of the roads but not many, not the amount of salt you have over there. RSM8
