WE TAKE OUR CARAVAN TO THE SNOW! In this episode we travel over 2,500km in 4 days to make it from Uluru to the Snowy Mountains Australia!
We face a bit of a speed bump straight up when we realise it could be harder than what we first thought to get our caravan into Kosciuszko National Park. Our new route sees us stay at an awesome low cost camp called Yarrangobilly Village, where we camp in the coldest temperatures we’ve ever experienced (up to minus 7 degrees!), and explore the Yarrangobilly thermal pool and caves.
We put our Zone RV’s offgrid power system to the test, camping in freezing temperatures with minimal solar power for over a week and also enjoy cooking meals over the campfire.
Finally it’s time for the main event when we drop the van off in Jindabyne and head to the snowfields in Perisher for 4 epic days of skiing and snowboarding.

Awesome episode guys I'm glad to see something different on KZbin 👍👍 it also brought back memories of our holiday in July. We stayed at Tumut as we have dogs. Our Cavoodle (Jatz) also did a cold plunge chasing ducks and had to have a very warm shower to warm up. We had some great days and plenty of snow ❤❤

Gday guys, great to see you lapping it all up in the High Country "our back yard" as we live in Albury Not sure if you realise how lucky you are to have seen and even better film the elusive, famous "Lyre Bird" often heard but rarely seen. As as family of mum dad and four kids 4WDing and camping in our Nissan Patrols, we've traveled and explored much of the Alpine regions over the last twenty five years and only managed a few short glimpses of this most amazing Australian legend of mimicry. My wife and I camped in a swag at that exact camp group at Yarrangobilly a bit over 3 weeks ago and one of the mornings was -6°C and that was the morning we went for a swim in the thermal pool.

It's a big climb up the range from Talbingo. I lived in Tumut for a few years back in the early 2000's. Yarangobilly Caves are worth a look, glad to se you did it, we used to go fishing nearby, there is also an old homestead along the bank with a few old reminders left. They hold the Alpine Rally each year in mid winter nearby to where you are camped. I used to go skiing in Mt Selwyn ski resort because the XR6 Falcon wasn't great in the snow so I always had a lot of trouble getting to Thredbo.

Tumut was such a lovely little town, and yes heading up the range was slow and steady but a nice gentle incline the whole way made it easy. Wished it was open season on the trout, i was keen to have a flick. Next time. Looking forward to some more winter camping next year, we will give the place a good workout 👌

What fun from go to wo, great drone footage. East and West is so very different from each other, we have it all in Aussie, how lucky we are, don’t waste a minute more Aussies, get out and enjoy before the governments lock the gates on many areas we could once always visit or climb!

Yeah I've done my fair share of towing in steep country with hair pin corners etc i much preferred the route we took. Plus if we had an accident our insurance company would have plenty of ammo.
