Waw, as a guy that also like to swim underwater myself, I can't hold my breath as long as that. Also I want more pools at that depth in my place... A lot of pools in my place only goes to neck deep :|

I used to do this in the pool and my coach would be around the whole day, talking about technique, life saving. 50 meters, 100 meters on one breath. He just didn't want us holding breath close to 2 mins. Besides the obvious risks, he considered brain damage. Now after 30 years, I went back to find that they banned diving and submerged swimming. Don't know where the underwater meditation guys went since they regularly held their breath for 10 to 15 minutes.

I can barely do 15 meters or less
@linnen_elm5 жыл бұрын
don't worry, just do it a frequently and i was here doing 25m. back then in my final year highschool where i started to swim, i barely made 6m long breath holding lol (with a lot of spasm!) slowly but surely we can reach 75m too. I heard mamalian dive is perfected over the years, not just months! Now that I have proved it myself by trying 50m, it's very absurd to recall that i was such a dead dolphin back in the years lol glhf

Nice! Made me think of the confidence swim BUD/S candidates do. You should try it with the front flip in the beginning they do.

I was expecting him to haul ass the whole time but he was really chill about it. Very impressive. I can do 50 meters, but i am nearly sprinting it.

When I was about fourteen my swim coach showed us that he could go 100 yards underwater. That's four lengths. So of course we all had to give it a try. I went almost 75. We were wearing smoother suits (yes Speedos make a big difference) and using a lot more flutter kick. Nowadays this is horribly illegal for a coach to allow, there have been deaths from shallow water blackout. Don't do this, kids.

Hi Christian! ohhh I see... 2 years later and no on did tell you that this isn't very efficient at all... when you make yourself streamline in the water start with your arms going in front of your body/head and at the same time do the frog kick but leave your arms in front until your gliding from the frog-kick gets slower! Also if you put your arms in front of your head don't do something like a breaststroke... the arms need to be near your body flat under your chest ... you move them more like an arrow in front of your head... keep them as flat as possible due to the water resistance. If you've got enough strengh to do 75m with that oxygen-eating technique you'll be able to do 100m and more with the right technique! Normally a 25m track can be done with 3 to 5 kick/stroke-movements.

Christian does cardio training such as running or an olyptical help with breath hold?
@Christian_Wedoy5 жыл бұрын
Yes. Being in good shape give you a lower resting pulse. Also it helps a lot if you are going to be swimming or moving around

I just have to wonder what your technique is for holding your breath so long in some of your other videos. Is there a something I should know? I can only hold my breath for a minute. If you respond, thank you.

I have a lot of videos explaining how to hold your breath longer on my channel

This is a very interesting video to me Christian. I am someone who has done many many hours of pool training I can complete each 25m lenght in 3.5 strokes weighted and 5 unweighted yet my best attempt has only been 65m. Having watched a few of your videos I can see your breath hold is much greater than mine and as a result your able to go further even with a less streamlined technique. I'm curious to know if this is your best distance? and if you have any interest in working on your technique as I'm certain you could increase your distance even further should you desire too.
@Christian_Wedoy5 жыл бұрын
Hello. My record is about 85 m unweighted with speedos. A fluffy shorts creates a lot of drag.. I mainly practise holding my breath so I can use it in my shows as a escape artist and illusionist, but I absolutely want to work on my technique and I am working on it. I also work on my stamina as I am out of shape now. If I could do it in 3,5 strokes it would be awesome :)
@simonm4345 жыл бұрын
In the video I can see you can make better use of the glide and travel much further with your arms extended before each pull. I am following the techniques in your other videos to improve my breath hold so thanks for that. I'm super impressed by your ability. My best is 4:01 but I'm only consistent at about the 3:00-3:30 range.
