Well Tom that's another fine job you have landed yourself with. Copper pipes a bit bigger than you normally work with. Those hidden pipes did not help . But its all looking good so far 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Hi Tom, that job looked a bit of a wrestling match, some big pipe there to work with, some nice big copper pipe and soldering there and that’s always nice to see. Looks like another nice job, I hope the remaining bit went well for you, thanks for a great film, have a good weekend and take care, 🍻👍👍

Hi Tom Enjoy your channel, and have learnt a lot as a diy'er... Id have fitted the boiler on the otherside of the wall, was there not room? Most of your pipework was originating there, or no outside wall for the flue? Would have meant a tidier kitchen, boilers are for back rooms not hanging on walls in kitchens.. I guess also was muggle led.. put it 'ere son...! Keep smiling...! Dave

It's a fair point mate, the building was listed so sometimes it can be tricky to get consent to move the flue, moving the boiler would have saved having the pipes in the kitchen and might have looked better, thanks for watching Dave, the support is greatly appreciated

Hi Tom, I used fireproof expanding foam to seal up an existing flue the other day. It had nothing on it at all and I thought better do something rather than leave it. Turns out it wasn't quite as bodgy as I thought 😂. Thanks for that.

Just a quick Combi change they said. 😂😂 I dread to think what the additional cost would have been if you had used press fit instead of soldering.
@PlumbLikeTom
@PlumbLikeTom Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the support as always Colin, I still prefer soldering to press, a few places on this job I would have struggled to get the jaws In as the pipework was tight, press probably is the future though a long with heatpumps

As an old Gas man I will predict that the government will roll back on Heat pumps and put back the dates for electric cars. There is as much gas under the Warwickshire countryside as there was in the North Sea in the 70’s and when the technology improves to extract it and the need for energy security is recognised it will be a “Dash for Gas” all over again.

@PlumbLikeTom

Thanks for the support as always Peter, when I first did my commercial I was really worried about what to expect. I turned up at the training centre expecting a classroom full of people, it turned out I was there on my own and it was a 1 to 1 learning, honestly my trainer was great. I did three days training and two days assessment, there was a lot to take in but being 1 to 1 we could skip over bits that I already knew. When you get your head into it, it's surprising how much you will already know and there is quite a lot of common sense stuff, ventilation was a lot harder and in depth a long with purging
