Funny story about Kaboom. My brother used to be amazing at the game. He would practice in order to try out for the contest Activision ran at the time. One time our little cousin was over watching him play. He was doing so good he actually made over 10,000 points. It was going so fast, and our cousin laughed so hard he actually wet himself. It's a super challenging game that still holds up today.

Been a fan for years, and now that you'll stream full time I think it'd be cool to maybe try and bring up the whole art angle to it every once in a while, see if it work (always loved your style, packed a strong 70s underground comics feel to it). If there's something I see common in a lot of the big streamers that don't focus on one game only is they try to have a lot of variety, and you 100% have the energy and personality to become a household streamer if you polished the presentation a bit and spiced it up. This is only my 2 cents as a supporter, hoping for the best. Merry Christmas, Mf!

Mike, that "monkey" is actually a mountain lion and his name is Quickclaw. That other person you found is actually a girl named Rhonda and she is Pitfall Harry's daughter. BEFORE you grab Quickclaw, you need to go right one screen and you will be behind that rat that was forcing you back into the water at the start of the game. Because you are behind him now you can grab him for big points (I'm not sure but I think it's 15,000). The reason the game didn't end when you grabbed Quickclaw is because you missed the Raj Diamond. The game kept going because you missed the diamond. To get it, it's either the first open path or second open path to the left below Rhonda. Go to the left one screen then take a running jump off the edge of the ledge. The next part just let gravity and video game physics take over, if you jumped off of the correct ledge, you should bounce off the boulders on the left side of the screen, fall across the screen and bounce off the boulders on the right side of the screen, fall across the screen again to the left and land on a ledge, go one screen to the left and that is where the Raj Diamond is. You will get a brief ending if you get Rhonda, the Raj Diamond, and Quickclaw. The rat is optional.

Atari 2600 games are in control of how many scanlines get displayed per frame. Some games deviate pretty far from "normal" NTSC. They worked on old TVs but modern video equipment has trouble syncing to those games. Apparently Jungle Hunt is one of those games. Similar problem with Quadrun - it was apparently breaking sync when it played voice, because rendering the display on 2600 takes too much CPU time to do both.

2600 Space Invaders is one of the greatest ports of all time, IMO. The programmer worked cleverly around system limitations - nobody at Atari expected it to be that good. Up to that point Atari was struggling. The 2600 had been out for 2 years but they were still losing money. Space Invaders was the killer game that made everybody want a 2600, and made Atari into a phenomenon. The programmer of that game got paid something like $30K. After Atari became a money printing machine, they bought the rights to Pac-Man. The programmer who got that task delivered a rudimentary effort with terrible color and flicker problems. It was a highly visible game that disappointed everybody who saw it, painting the 2600 as obsolete and souring public interest in the system. By this time Atari was paying royalties, so the Pac-Man programmer got over $1M in royalties for a game that only sold because of it's title.

I posted a review of the game...You can check it out (it's only about 90 seconds long); if you don't want to waste 90 seconds of your life I'll save you the hassle...The game is fucking amazing! The developer responsible, Champ Games, has ported several classic arcade games to the console, and their work is 2nd to none...They are in a class of their own. They are releasing a physical version of their port of Robotron 2084 (titled Robot Wars) for the 2600 early 2021, I believe. Check out the gameplay videos...it has to be seen to be believed. Pac-Man is a maze arcade game developed and released by Namco in 1980. The original Japanese title of Puck Man was changed to Pac-Man for international releases as a preventative measure against defacement of the arcade machines by changing the P to an F. Outside Japan, the game was published by Midway Games as part of its licensing agreement with Namco America. The player controls Pac-Man, who must eat all the dots inside an enclosed maze while avoiding four colored ghosts. Eating large flashing dots called "energizers" causes the ghosts to turn blue, allowing Pac-Man to eat them for bonus points. The development of the game began in early 1979, directed by Toru Iwatani with a nine-man team. Iwatani wanted to create a game that could appeal to women as well as men, because most video games of the time had themes of war or sports. Although the inspiration for the Pac-Man character was, reportedly, the image of a pizza with a slice removed, Iwatani has said he also rounded out the Japanese character for mouth, kuchi (Japanese: 口). The in-game characters were made to be cute and colorful to appeal to younger players. The original Japanese title of Puckman was derived from the titular character's hockey-puck shape. Pac-Man was a widespread critical and commercial success, and it has an enduring commercial and cultural legacy. The game is considered important and influential, and it is commonly listed as one of the greatest video games of all time. The success of the game led to several sequels, merchandise, and two television series, as well as a hit single by Buckner and Garcia. The Pac-Man video game franchise remains one of the highest-grossing and best-selling game series of all time, generating more than $14 billion in revenue (as of 2016) and $43 million in sales combined. The character of Pac-Man is the mascot and flagship icon of Bandai Namco Entertainment and has the highest brand awareness of any video game character in North America.
